In May 2024, Binh Lieu vermicelli products of Binh Lieu Trading and Service Joint Stock Company were one of the province's typical products recognized as a typical rural industrial product in the Northern region. Binh Lieu vermicelli is also one of the province's outstanding 4-star OCOP products, registered for exclusive trademark since 2007. Compared to other similar products, Binh Lieu vermicelli is produced entirely from cassava tubers, processed according to traditional methods, completely dried in the sun, thereby preserving its characteristic delicious flavor.
Binh Lieu Trading and Service Joint Stock Company has also invested in production with modern machinery and equipment with a factory area of over 10,000m2 . with a strictly followed processing procedure from selecting raw materials to processing products. Not only consumed in the domestic market, in 2021, the company's products were exported to the Chinese market.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tung, Deputy Director of Binh Lieu Trading and Service Joint Stock Company, said: To have a source of quality raw materials, the Company has strictly managed the source of raw materials from planting to harvesting. The Company also cooperates with local households in production, providing codes for growing areas, so the source of raw materials is always abundant, creating effective income for people. Currently, the Company has just deployed a soft-coating and drying technology line with an investment of 2 billion VND, doubling the capacity, reducing costs, labor and not depending on the weather. In 2024, the Company's expected output of vermicelli exported to the Chinese market is about 30 tons, an increase of one and a half times compared to 2022. The average income of workers is from 7 million VND/person/month.
Taking advantage of the locality's available advantages, many enterprises, cooperatives, and production facilities in the province have invested in facilities, equipment, and improved technology to create high-quality products and expand market consumption.
Van Don Seafood Company Limited specializes in producing and processing local seafood products. Currently, the company is processing raw seafood into products with typical brands of Van Don such as: oyster floss, mantis shrimp floss, shrimp floss... With the goal of producing high-quality products, the Company has selected fresh seafood species that are local specialties such as sea worms, fish, shrimp, squid, milk oysters...; applying science and technology to serve production such as: dryers, grinders, electric frying pans for drying shrimp floss... Thereby, increasingly improving productivity, quality, diversifying products, creating brands for products. In 2023, the Company has 2 products, oyster floss and shrimp floss, recognized as 4-star OCOP at the provincial level.
Ms. Do Thi Thuy, Director of Van Don Seafood Company Limited, said: The company's products are now labeled with traceability labels, connected and sold through sales channels such as supermarket systems, stores, and e-commerce platforms. We update new sales methods such as livestream sales, participating in OCOP Fairs... so that the products are known to many customers. With continuous efforts, the company has brought high business efficiency with revenue of about 500-700 million VND/month, creating jobs for 7 local workers with an income of 7-8 million VND/month.
It can be seen that the province always pays special attention to brand building. Especially through the OCOP program, the province has developed many products that have achieved 3-5 stars such as: Golden flower tea, Ba Che Morinda officinalis, Dong Trieu golden flower sticky rice, Mong Cai pig, Tien Yen chicken... The products are increasingly focused on improving quality, diversifying types, improving designs and packaging, and are favored and trusted by many consumers.
