The Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that today, April 12, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City is hot and sunny, with some areas experiencing severe heat. The hot weather during the day lasts from about 12:00 to 16:00. However, the sun appears very early, and the low humidity makes the weather uncomfortably hot.

The increase in temperature not only increases the risk of health problems such as heatstroke, headaches and exhaustion, but also has negative effects on people's daily activities.

Public transport is crowded and public spaces become more uncomfortable, especially during rush hour.

Many motorbike taxi drivers in Ho Chi Minh City say that driving on the streets these past few days is no different than being in an "alchemy furnace".

As the sun rises overhead, many drivers seek shelter from the heat. From under bridges, bushes to billboards. Wherever there is shade, a few drivers will park their cars to rest.

Turn off the app because I can't stand the heat.

Ms. LN (an office worker in Phu Nhuan) complained: "The heat not only causes fatigue but also affects daily activities. Normally, I order food via the app and it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to be delivered, but these days the waiting time is longer. Sometimes, the order is even canceled."

According to Tuoi Tre Online , at the foot of Ba Son bridge, dozens of drivers set up their bikes, hung hammocks, and even lay on the sidewalk to rest because they were exhausted by the heat.

Mr. Huynh (living in District 5), who has been driving a motorbike taxi for 3 years, shared: "It's so hot! Everyone here is exhausted, no matter how much water we bring, it's not enough. But because of making a living, we have to endure it."

Mr. Hoang (living in District 4) said that yesterday he suffered from heat stroke while driving. He felt dizzy and had to pull over immediately to ensure safety. Luckily, a passerby applied oil and gave him water, so he was able to return home safely.

In some cases, drivers have had to accept turning off the application and stopping operations during extremely hot weather to protect their health.

The main reason is that record high temperatures can cause health problems such as heatstroke, heat exhaustion and the risk of accidents.

Mr. Trinh (living in Phu Nhuan district), a food delivery technology driver, shared: "I really want to run at noon because that's when people order a lot of food. However, I also know my own strength, take a break from running for a while to let the weather cool down, and don't dare to run "hard" for fear of having a stroke in the middle of the road."

Mr. Can (living in Binh Thanh District) said that this hot weather has seriously damaged his health. Every day when he drives home, he gets a headache and feels exhausted. His wife and children are also worried and advise him to only drive early in the morning and in the evening to maintain his health.

Lao động mưu sinh ngoài trời nắng nóng cần lưu ý gì? What should you pay attention to when working outdoors in the hot sun?
