Once the most difficult locality of Nho Quan district (Ninh Binh), with the right policies and the efforts of the people, Thach Binh commune has contributed to the local poverty reduction effort.
Accounting for 50% of the population in Thach Binh commune, in the past, Muong ethnic women only knew how to do agricultural economics in the rice fields. However, the economic efficiency was not high, making life difficult and deprived.
To help members improve their lives, the provincial Women's Union at all levels and the government regularly create conditions and support ethnic minority women to borrow capital, visit and learn about new economic models that bring high incomes such as growing fruit trees, raising livestock, textiles, organic production... and applying advances in science and technology.
Thanks to that, the multidimensional poverty rate in the commune has decreased to 3.08%. In particular, many Muong women have become well-off and rich households. Currently, out of 1,437 women's association members, only 10 are poor.
Accordingly, in the past year, the entire Association has had many practical activities to guide and support Cooperatives (Cooperatives) and Cooperative Groups (Cooperatives) to digitally transform production and business, build OCOP products; coordinate with the Bank for Social Policies and the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development to effectively exploit and manage capital of VND 3,809 billion for 43,916 members, women, members of Cooperatives and Cooperatives to borrow capital to develop family economy and expand production and business.

In addition, in order to create conditions for ethnic minorities to promote their advantages and potentials and strive for integration, over the past 5 years, Ninh Binh province has effectively implemented the programs and projects of the Central Government in combination with the province's specific policies to develop the ethnic minority areas relatively comprehensively. Over the past 5 years, the whole province has mobilized more than 326 billion VND to implement the National Target Program on socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
By 2023, the average income per capita of ethnic minorities in the province will reach 60 million VND/year; the poverty rate in ethnic minorities and mountainous areas will decrease to 2.95%, a significant decrease compared to previous years.
With the above measures, the ethnic minority areas have had many positive changes, the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved and enhanced. At the same time, it helps ethnic minority women quickly "overcome difficulties", promoting sustainable and multidimensional poverty reduction for the whole Ninh Binh province.
