Enhancing competitiveness for TPO member cities

NDO - The 2025 Regional Conference of the Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities (TPO) for members in Vietnam focused on discussing strategies for developing innovative tourism products, creating highlights to attract international visitors and enhancing competitiveness for TPO member cities.

On the morning of March 28, the 2025 regional conference of the Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities (TPO) for members in Vietnam took place in Hanoi, with the participation of Secretary General Kang Da-eun and members of the Secretariat; representatives of TPO member cities of Vietnam such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, Vung Tau, Long An; representatives of a number of tourism businesses, tourism associations...

The conference is an annual and important event to update information on TPO's activities and programs in the coming time, and at the same time create conditions for members in Vietnam to exchange experiences in tourism management and development.

The event also promotes cooperation between TPO member cities in Vietnam and expands opportunities for connection with international member cities, contributing to improving the effectiveness of tourism promotion in the region and the world.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Kang Da-eun - Secretary General of TPO said that the thematic session on "Shaping unique tourism products: Increasing the attractiveness of Vietnamese cities" plays an important role as a platform for members to enhance the tourism competitiveness of member cities in Vietnam. This session creates an opportunity for TPO members to share in-depth insights on destinations and effective market positioning.

With the participation of many members representing Vietnam, Ms. Kang Da-eun believes that this event will further connect TPO members in Vietnam.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Dang Huong Giang - Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism said: In the context of the global tourism industry recovering and continuing to grow strongly after the impacts of the recent pandemic, strengthening connectivity, expanding cooperation and constantly innovating tourism products are key factors to help cities improve their competitiveness, attract tourists and create sustainable growth momentum.

With the theme “Shaping unique tourism products: Increasing the attractiveness of Vietnamese cities”, this conference is an important forum for members to share practical experiences, propose creative solutions and together orient effective development strategies.

At the same time, the event is also an opportunity to explore the cultural, historical values ​​and unique tourism potential of the capital Hanoi - a destination with a strong identity but always innovating to meet the needs of international tourists.

Ms. Dang Huong Giang expressed her belief that with the active participation of delegates and the support of the TPO Secretariat, this conference will achieve practical results, making important contributions to enhancing the tourism status of member cities and promoting the common development of the regional and world tourism industry.

Sharing at the conference, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Ha Van Sieu said that the conference is one of the global activities, playing a pioneering role, leading tourism trends, connecting destinations of tourist cities.

In the trend of global tourism fully recovering, the connection of TPO members is increasingly important, especially through technology applications to create practical action programs and promote tourism between cities.

Vietnam National Tourism Administration hopes that in the coming time, TPO will guide its members so that they can have initiatives to attract investment resources, so that the TPO network in Vietnam in particular and the world in general can continuously develop.

With the theme “Shaping unique tourism products: Increasing the attractiveness of Vietnamese cities”, the conference focused on discussing strategies for developing creative tourism products, creating highlights to attract international visitors and enhancing the competitiveness of TPO member cities.

On the sidelines of the Conference, there are also a number of activities such as visiting the exhibition area, introducing products, publications, Hanoi tourism gifts, outstanding OCOP products of the Capital serving tourism...

Also on this occasion, delegates will participate in a city tour to visit Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Vietnam Museum of Ethnology and survey some tourist attractions in Hanoi.

TPO (Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities) is a large tourism organization headquartered in Busan, South Korea, working for the development and prosperity of member cities, through cooperation between cities in the field of tourism. The organization has 137 member cities in 16 countries. Vietnam currently has 8 provinces and cities that are members of TPO: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh, Da Lat, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Long An, Vung Tau. Hanoi officially joined TPO in 2008.
