To support unemployed workers to participate in training courses, foster and improve their vocational skills, recently, the Provincial Employment Service Center (DVVL) has coordinated and linked with Tam Tin Business and Management College to open an office IT training class for more than 40 workers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Son Loi commune (Binh Xuyen), a student of the office informatics class, said: "I have been working for a garment company for 5 years, but due to family circumstances, my work was interrupted. After submitting my application for unemployment benefits, I was advised by the staff of the Provincial Employment Service Center to register for an office informatics course to gain more skills and better knowledge before looking for a new job. Hopefully, I will find a suitable job and soon stabilize my life."
Comrade Doan Thi Thanh Hue, Head of the Unemployment Insurance and Labor Training Support Department, Provincial Employment Service Center said: In addition to receiving unemployment benefits according to regulations, employees are also consulted on policies on labor, employment and vocational training support. Since the beginning of the year, the center has consulted, introduced and supported vocational training for dozens of unemployed workers; opened a joint training class on office IT for more than 40 workers... Thereby helping unemployed workers to somewhat relieve pressure during the time of looking for new jobs; improve their vocational skills when returning to work at units and enterprises.
In order to build a team of skilled workers and increase income, recently, the Provincial Federation of Labor has directed all levels of Trade Unions to promote propaganda work on the Party's guidelines, State policies and laws, and Trade Union resolutions on improving education and professional skills for workers.
In 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor promoted and mobilized nearly 90,000 workers and laborers at enterprises to participate in studying and improving their qualifications and professional skills... In addition, many enterprises have provided financial support and created conditions for workers to study and improve their professional skills to meet job requirements.
Mr. Tran Van Thiem, recruitment manager, Vietnam Garment Company Limited, Ba Thien 2 Industrial Park (Binh Xuyen) said: “In the past, the company has invested in modern machinery in some production stages, so the workforce must improve their skills to meet the company's production requirements. To meet the job requirements, the company has organized training, supported skills and work skills for workers in all departments”.
To improve the quality of vocational skills, meet the requirements of businesses and the needs of society, vocational training institutions in the province have synchronously implemented many innovative solutions for training; strengthened links with businesses; expanded the scale of training in industries and occupations according to market needs...
Mr. Nguyen Trung Thien, Vice Principal of Vinh Phuc College of Technology and Engineering, said: The school's training program is built based on the practical requirements of the market and the recruitment needs of businesses. Currently, the school has proactively linked and signed cooperation agreements with more than 50 businesses in and outside the province; regularly organizes delegations to take students to visit, experience, and intern at businesses, especially at high-tech businesses; increases practice sessions, helping students access modern equipment and machinery during the learning process. The school's students are trained in soft skills in communication, behavior, corporate culture, industrial style, etc.
In fact, through training, skilled workers maintain jobs and earn higher incomes than unskilled workers. To support workers, students, and pupils to participate in vocational training and improve their skills, the province has issued many mechanisms and policies to support and encourage workers to participate in vocational training.
The Department of Home Affairs shall preside over and coordinate with a number of prestigious and quality vocational training institutions to organize training and foster practical skills for cadres, teachers, lecturers, and vocational education managers; review and arrange vocational education institutions to ensure scale, structure, and rationality in terms of occupations, training levels, standardization, and modernization; focus on investing in building provincial vocational education institutions to reach ASEAN and international standards.
At the same time, vocational training institutions also regularly organize training courses for teachers at school; create conditions for teachers to participate in advanced training programs, joint training programs at home and abroad; visit and learn practical production technology at enterprises; promote scientific research... Thereby contributing to improving the quality of human resources, serving the cause of industrialization - modernization of the country and international integration.
