Adding value to these products through processing not only helps producers increase their income but also diversifies their product range, creating opportunities to expand their consumer market.
Production of dried products from fruit raw materials.
Taking advantage of readily available local raw materials, A Lúa One-Member Limited Company (Nghĩa Hưng commune, Chư Păh district) has developed its A Lúa dried banana product to achieve OCOP 3-star rating. Mr. Nguyễn Tân Khánh, the company's director, said: “In 2024, I invested about 500 million VND in purchasing machinery for production using open-frying technology; at the same time, I gradually perfected the product and expanded the scale, then established the company.”
During production, the company applies a strict manufacturing process, involving washing, peeling, slicing, and frying to produce a completely natural product, without the use of sugar or artificial colors, and packaged in airtight containers to preserve the most natural flavor. Each day, the company produces 500 kg of fresh bananas to yield 100 kg of dried bananas. This year, the company expects to bring approximately 60 tons of product to the market.
According to Mr. Khanh, the company recently connected with a Japanese enterprise and invited them to visit the production facility. This enterprise highly appreciated the company's production process and product quality. This presents a great opportunity for the company to enter the Japanese market. Therefore, in the near future, the company will collaborate with local households to grow Cavendish bananas according to quality standards; simultaneously, it will invest in expanding the factory, upgrading machinery, and improving its criteria to meet the requirements of importers.

Similarly, Ms. Tran Thi Be, Director of Tran Lam Gia Phat Co., Ltd. (Pleiku City), said: Following the fruit seasons in Gia Lai , the company utilizes existing machinery to produce dried goods, increasing the value of processed fruits and diversifying products with distinctive characteristics. Initially, the company produces dried jackfruit, dried mango, dried carrots, dried sweet potatoes, etc.
“Currently, the company’s main sales markets are Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. When I entered the market, I noticed that consumers are increasingly interested in a healthy diet, prioritizing nutritious products that are low in sugar and fat, and therefore will choose to buy naturally dried products,” Ms. Bé shared.
Developing processed fruit products
The application of technology in post-harvest preservation and processing will create opportunities to increase the value of the fruit industry. In particular, processed products can more easily expand their market and be exported to countries around the world.
Ms. Do Thi My Thom, Director of Hung Thom Gia Lai Agricultural and Service Cooperative (Dak Ta Ley commune, Mang Yang district), said: “The cooperative has maximized the nutritional value of passion fruit by investing in processing machinery to produce a variety of products, such as: mixed-flavor passion fruit candies, dried passion fruit, passion fruit detox tea, passion fruit essential oil, passion fruit candles, freeze-dried passion fruit capsules, dried passion fruit seeds, etc.”
Product diversification will increase the value of crops and reach a wider range of customers. This also means reducing dependence on a single market, thereby enhancing business sustainability.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Van Lap, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Minh Phat Farms Cooperative (Chu Prong district), said: "We have just signed a cooperation agreement with Krong Pak Green Agriculture Cooperative (Dak Lak province) for the upcoming harvest season regarding frozen peeled durian and processed products made from durian pulp."
This not only enhances the value of the product but also creates more job opportunities and increases income for farmers. Processing durian into frozen products will help expand the export market. In addition, we are also researching the processing of durian products such as dried durian, cakes, and candies.
Over the past period, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion (Department of Industry and Trade) has supported businesses and rural industrial establishments in the province to invest in advanced and modern machinery and equipment for deep processing, enhancing product value, helping farmers have stable outlets based on the efficient use of available local raw materials, and developing the processing industry in a sustainable direction.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thu, Director of the Center, believes that the role of modern production lines is not only to increase productivity but also to ensure that products meet international standards, which is extremely important when businesses want to export. At annual trade promotion programs inside and outside the province, the unit also supports businesses producing processed fruit products in introducing and promoting their products.
