Improve the cultural and spiritual life of union members and workers

Some contents chosen by units and enterprises to implement the construction of a cultural environment include: building "loyal, creative, dedicated, exemplary" cadres, civil servants, and public employees; "model agencies", models of "Families without social evils", "Families without drugs", "Equal, progressive, happy families"; organizing golden bell competitions, law learning competitions, skilled skills competitions, and talks on life skills for workers.

In addition, the Provincial Federation of Labor has directed trade unions at all levels to promote the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", build "Cultural standard agencies, units and enterprises"; "Promote lifelong learning activities among employees in enterprises by 2030" in Quang Tri province.

Movements associated with Lifelong Learning Week, Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, building legal bookcases in enterprises... Thereby creating favorable conditions for union members and employees to participate in learning to improve their qualifications, skills, and understanding of the law, together building a healthy and progressive cultural environment in agencies, units, and enterprises, and repelling social evils.

The Union actively proposes that the government, professional peers, and employers pay attention to investing in and building cultural institutions, stadiums, gymnasiums, reading rooms, newspapers, and purchasing equipment for sports training to meet the health training, recreation, and entertainment needs of union members and workers.

Many units have made cultural and sports activities a regular activity, typically: Dong Ha City Labor Federation organizes a volleyball tournament for male workers and civil servants, Trieu Phong District Labor Federation organizes a badminton tournament for workers and civil servants, Dakrong District Labor Federation organizes a singing festival for workers and civil servants, and central grassroots trade unions in the province organize sports competitions and art festivals.

The Provincial Economic Zone Management Board organized the "Football Tournament for Enterprises in Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Quang Tri Province", the grassroots trade unions of units: VTJ Toms Textile Company Limited organized a cross-country race; Quang Tri Provincial Social Insurance organized a singing contest for civil servants, public employees, and workers; Huc Primary School organized a "Bolero Singing" contest...

In 2024 alone, the Labor Federations of districts, towns, cities, and industry unions organized 13 cultural and sports activities attracting 8,446 union members and workers to participate. At the grassroots level, there were 722 activities with over 27,000 union members and workers participating.

Chairman of the Trade Union of VTJ Toms Textile Company Limited, Le Nhat Tien, said: Maintaining and organizing regular cultural and sports activities creates a useful playground for union members and workers, helping workers relax after hard working days. The desire of many union members and workers is that the union organization, in addition to focusing on taking care of material life, needs to pay more attention to taking care of spiritual and cultural life, organizing many cultural, artistic and sports activities for union members and workers to participate in.

Cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities initiated and jointly organized by the union have become widespread movements, gradually meeting the needs of enjoyment and improving the cultural and spiritual life of union members and workers.

Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said: In the coming time, trade unions at all levels need to focus on innovating the content and form of organizing activities; strengthening coordination between trade unions with authorities at all levels and employers in building a healthy cultural environment, building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in agencies, units and enterprises.

Actively encourage union members and workers to study and improve their professional qualifications and skills, labor discipline and life skills. Pay attention to investing in cultural institutions, organizing physical education, sports and artistic activities for union members and workers to participate in, thereby contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of union members and workers, attracting workers to join the trade union organization.
