On the morning of December 29, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) held a conference to summarize 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024. Attending were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van; leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

In 2023, the value of total agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the area (GRDP) will reach nearly 22.4 trillion VND; agricultural growth will reach 4.88%.
This is the highest increase compared to the province's economic sectors and is 1.4 times higher than the national average, contributing significantly to the province's overall growth in 2023.

The value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production at current prices reached over 100 trillion VND (equal to 109.2% of the plan, up 13% compared to 2022, the highest in the past 3 years).

Total crop area increased by 4.7% of the plan; total grain output is estimated at over 1.3 million tons (equal to 106.32% of the plan, an increase of 42,921 tons).

In particular, in 2023, prices of some key products of the province, such as coffee, durian, rice, etc., will increase, helping to increase the income of people and agricultural enterprises by an estimated 15 trillion VND compared to 2022.

Concentrated afforestation reached more than 4,590 hectares (252% of the annual plan, the highest in the past 10 years); scattered tree planting reached 383,734 trees (191.8% of the plan).

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van emphasized: Dak Lak is proud that the agricultural sector in 2023 has achieved many outstanding results in many fields, continuing to affirm its role as a "support" for the economy. These are good signals to create momentum for the implementation of the sector's tasks in 2024.
