Reporter: When taking on the role of Prince Binh Minh, what did Cao Xuan Tai think about this character?

- King Cao Xuan Tai : The role of Binh Minh is an upright, brave and independent character. The character's psychology is not too complicated. I think these are suitable first steps for me on the path of acting.

I got the role of Binh Minh while I was filming a fairy tale drama for Sao Phuong Nam Company. Knowing that this was a play that was to be performed this summer, I thought it would be suitable because the characters' colors were relatively similar.

I am very happy to be cheered by the audience and hope to gain more acting experience for myself, as well as bring the audience gentle and profound laughter.

As a model, MC, and judge of competitions, what obstacles did Cao Xuan Tai encounter when he entered the theater stage? How did he overcome them?

- I'm just trying out the MC profession, getting used to it but not yet "hardened" so I can't comment. But there's a big difference between being a model and being an actor. I used to be a model and now I'm trying to become an actor.

Models are more about the outside, their bodies must be beautiful, they have the skills to show off their figures and express their emotions, but the requirements are not too high. Actors are more about the inside, they must understand and be able to control their emotions, their inner self must have depth in order to be able to get into character and touch the inner emotions of the audience.

Besides, you have to have a good sense of space to act with camera angles - this is also the part that I struggled with, so I had to try harder. The first steps were very difficult, but understanding my inner self and being able to use art to touch the hearts of the audience are things I aspire to do, so I believe I can overcome no matter how difficult it is.

. Unforgettable memories of Cao Xuan Tai during the rehearsal of the play "Colorful Island - The Challenge of Survival"?

- In the play, there was a scene where I had to change from a cloak to a loincloth. When I put on the cloak, I wore an undershirt to absorb sweat, but when I put on the loincloth, I couldn't do that because my undershirt would be exposed.

The costumes took a long time to change into and out, and so they kept getting messy, causing me to be late for the show. Everyone was panicking. My co-stars had to take turns backstage to "buy time" for me to change back into my costume and go on stage. Luckily, everything went smoothly.

From cinema to acting, how do you feel about your acting experience?

- Cinema has given me quite a bit of experience in acting. I have been taught a lot by directors and cameramen about acting, camera angles and the rhythm of the scene, which has helped me feel more confident when I return to the stage after a long time. I feel like I still have a lot to learn if I want to become a real actor.

. What do you think about studying and working at Quoc Thao Drama Theater?

- Currently, I focus on learning to gain more experience. Mr. Quoc Thao is a teacher who has taught me from the very beginning. He taught me many things from stage voice, to body, to how to walk on stage.

Besides, at Quoc Thao stage, I met many young people, who are very enthusiastic and have a pure love for their profession. I really like acting and am trying very hard for it. I used to be a King, a model, a circus performer, a teacher, a waiter, and even a worker…

Now I am an actor. Each profession has left me with its own impression, each beautiful in its own way. Everything comes and goes, what you are destined for and for how long is often not up to you to decide.

Focus on the present, take advantage of the present time to do what you like and enjoy it, everything will pass without any regrets. I think being open to life is the mindset I should have.
