On the evening of June 2, speaking with VietNamNet reporter, the Captain of Traffic Police Team No. 7, Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police said that the unit had just issued a decision to administratively fine 7 million VND, temporarily detain the vehicle for 7 days and revoke the driver's license for 4 months for HPP (born 2005, residing in Thanh Tri, Hanoi) for the act of doing a wheelie on a motorbike.
Previously, on the evening of June 1, a clip of a young man riding a motorbike on one wheel on Le Van Luong Street went viral on social media. Immediately upon receiving the report, Traffic Police Team No. 7 identified the driver and invited him in for questioning.
P. confessed that at around 10:30 p.m. on June 1, while driving on Le Van Luong Street (Thanh Xuan, Hanoi), P. drove a motorbike with license plate 29X7-660.XX to do a wheelie with the intention of asking friends to film the clip and post it on social media to show off his "achievement".
After being informed by the traffic police, P. realized that his behavior was wrong. At the same time, P. wrote a commitment not to repeat the offense.
A representative of the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police said that all acts of traffic violations such as weaving, swerving, wheelies, etc. will be strictly handled as a deterrent. Currently, the unit is coordinating with the Criminal Police Department, the Mobile Police Regiment and the Police of districts, towns and cities to patrol and strictly handle young people who cause public disorder every night on the central streets of the capital and suburban areas.
