On the afternoon of October 25, social media was abuzz with an article and a video clip recording a group of students repeatedly punching, kicking, and even kneeing a male student in the stomach.
In the clip, while the male student was sitting and crying, four other male students continuously jumped in to beat him up, using their hands and feet to punch and kick him in the head and body. Another male student stood there filming the clip.
Some locals said the violence in the clip happened at the village's cultural house. The male students in the clip were students of Dai Dong Secondary School, Thach That, Hanoi. When the incident happened, the male students were not wearing uniforms.

The second part of the clip shows the abused male student being treated in the hospital. In the clip, the male student is panicking and has uncontrolled behavior, has seizures, and cannot remember his name or address.
"This male student was abused by his schoolmates for more than a year, causing him to be hospitalized and fall into depression. After the school found out, they handled the matter perfunctorily and covered up everything to prevent it from being exposed," information spread online.
Mr. Do Cong Duc, Principal of Dai Dong Secondary School, confirmed that the students in the clip above are currently in 7th grade, in the same class, and are all students of the school. The fight in the clip happened in June at the village's cultural house.
Mr. Duc said that it was not until September 16 that the school became aware of the incident when these students continued to fight at school.
On September 22, the school established a disciplinary council, invited parents from both sides to work, and had students write a report on the incident.
Accordingly, some students confessed to beating K once, some confessed to beating him twice... K. confessed to being beaten many times on the street, at the cultural house, and at school.
"The school has disciplined the students involved in beating K. at the highest level - temporary suspension (4 days). The students have returned to school since October 24," said Mr. Duc.
Regarding K's hospitalization and psychological trauma, the Principal of Dai Dong Secondary School said that when seeing K's psychological trauma, the school was very worried and invited all families to the school to work, asking the families to accompany K's family in the treatment.
"The school has also reported the incident to the Department of Education and Training of Thach That district, local leaders and the police have also intervened. After nearly a week of collecting information, the People's Committee of the commune will resolve the incident and ask the families to cooperate in treating K," Mr. Duc added.
