Next school year, what textbooks will 12th grade students in Ho Chi Minh City use?

The 12th grade textbooks used in educational institutions in Ho Chi Minh City from the 2024-2025 school year have just been approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee from the following book series: Creative Horizon, Kite, Connecting Knowledge with Life.

Subjects and educational activities include: literature, mathematics, English, history, geography, economic and legal education, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, experiential activities, career guidance, technology, physical education, music, fine arts, national defense and security education.

The new point of this school year is Circular 27/2023/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training stipulating that from the 2024-2025 school year, general schools will be given the right to choose textbooks and not depend on the issuance of cities and provinces as before.

This year, each school will have a different way of choosing books. For example, Gia Dinh High School will choose literature, computer science books... from the Connecting knowledge with life series, math, history, physics, chemistry books... from the Creative Horizon series, geography books, economic and legal education, biology... from the Kite series.

Le Thanh Ton High School chose literature, math, history, physics, biology... books from the Creative Horizon series , and geography, economic and legal education, chemistry, computer science... books from the Kite series.

Immediately after being approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, each general education institution in the city will announce the list of textbooks used for teaching at the unit in the 2024-2025 school year to a wide range of teachers, parents, and students at the unit.

At the same time, the facilities develop plans to support students in equipping textbooks for the new school year. This includes plans to support textbooks for students in difficult circumstances, ensuring that 100% of the school's students have enough books to use in the new school year.

Along with that, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City continues to coordinate with publishers to organize training courses on textbooks for grades 5, 9 and 12 for staff and teachers.
