Meticulously arranging each new book, neatly placing them on the shelf, Ms. Le Thi Kim Hue (54 years old, also known as mother Hue), who takes care of children at SOS Children's Village Nha Trang, hopes that the children will have an exciting new school year.
Play fun, study hard
In house number 2 at SOS Village Nha Trang, called Hoa My's house, in the hot weather, mother Hue meticulously prepares lunch for the children, not forgetting to give instructions on what to do to start the new school year.
At this time every year, foster mothers at SOS Children's Village Nha Trang prepare everything for the children from books, school supplies, uniforms according to the requirements of the school where they are studying.
"The mothers here hope that the children will have a new school year full of joy. The children have lacked love since childhood, I hope that the necessary preparations before entering the new school year prepared by the village will give the children more motivation to continue going to school firmly" - mother Hue said.
Hoa My's house still resounds with the sound of children reading their lessons at noon. Since the announcement of the new school year, the children in the village have been actively reviewing old knowledge and learning new lessons, especially English.
Having raised children in the village for more than 10 years, Hue's mother said that the children here are all obedient, disciplined, and tidy. They have fun when playing, but are very serious when studying.
Before the first day of school, each student has their own way of studying, but everyone is excited because they will meet their friends and teachers again and learn new lessons.
Determined to study and overcome circumstances
Sitting in a corner eating his own portion, Cao Duong, a 4th grade student at Hermann Gmeiner High School (Nha Trang City), is excited to see his friends again.
During the summer vacation, Duong unfortunately became seriously ill and had to receive regular treatment at Khanh Hoa General Hospital. He was recently discharged from the hospital to return to his village to prepare for the new school year. In the near future, Duong will have to be transferred to a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for treatment.
"I really want to see my friends and teachers again. I've had a long summer vacation so I really want to go to school because going to school is fun. I hope I get well soon so I can go to school normally like my friends" - Duong expressed.
