At around 9:00 a.m. this morning (February 16 - the 7th day of the first lunar month of the year of the Dragon), while collecting trolleys, Ms. Ha Thi Tuoi, an employee of the trolley team, Noi Bai Airport Operation Center, discovered a black bag left on a trolley at counter B12, 3rd floor of the public area to Passenger Terminal T2 - Noi Bai Airport.
Ms. Tuoi immediately reported to Noi Bai Airport Security. During the inspection, it was found that the bag contained 4,300 USD (2 50 USD bills, 42 100 USD bills - equivalent to more than 100 million VND). However, there were no identification documents in the bag.
The Mobile Security Team immediately informed the security camera monitoring department to check and review the entire system at the time of the incident.
At the duty room, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong and Nguyen Huy Khanh, employees of the Mobile Security Team, used professional measures to quickly trace, isolate and identify passengers at the B12 check-in counter area.
After 2-3 minutes through the modern camera surveillance system, two employees identified a male passenger who left the property.
Using professional measures, 5 minutes later, the camera monitoring team identified the owner of the forgotten bag walking towards the waiting room near the gate of flight number 29. At this time, the Security camera monitoring team informed the representative of the Mobile Security Team to urgently move into the isolation area to approach the passenger.
The security team asked the guest to check his personal belongings and luggage, and at this moment the male guest was shocked to realize that he had forgotten an important bag, but could not remember where he had left it.
After accurately identifying the passenger who left his belongings behind, the Mobile Security Department and Security forces made a record of the property handover and returned the bag to Mr. VQĐ (passenger on flight TG561 Hanoi - Bangkok).
It is known that during the 7-day Lunar New Year holiday (from February 8 to 14), Noi Bai airport received 365 cases of passengers leaving behind their belongings. These cases have been coded and posted daily on the website to help passengers easily look up and search.
Airport representatives said that after the Tet holiday, the number of passengers passing through here is at a high level, so people need to pay attention to carefully checking their luggage and personal belongings before departing or leaving the airport. Because according to airport representatives, not all cases of luggage and property left at the airport are discovered by staff in time to be returned to passengers.
To assist in finding lost luggage at Noi Bai airport within 24 hours of leaving it behind, passengers should contact the Noi Bai Aviation Security Center hotline. After 24 hours of leaving it behind, passengers should contact the Lost and Found Department, look up the link or iNIA application on their smartphone, or contact the airline for assistance.
