Speaking with a VietNamNet reporter on the afternoon of November 28th, Tran Anh Dung, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province, said that he had just received notification from the General Statistics Office regarding the province's GRDP figures for 2023.
Accordingly, Nam Dinh's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in 2023 is estimated to increase by 10.19% compared to 2022. This is the highest growth rate ever recorded for Nam Dinh province and significantly higher than the national average.
This also marks the first time the province's GRDP has achieved double-digit growth.
Specifically, the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector increased by 3.45%; the industry and construction sector increased by 15.95%; the service sector increased by 7.40%; and product taxes less product subsidies increased by 6.38%.
With these results, in 2023 Nam Dinh ranked 6th nationwide in GRDP growth, only after the provinces and cities of Bac Giang, Hau Giang, Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa, and Hai Phong ; and ranked 3rd in the Red River Delta region, after the provinces and cities of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong.
Mr. Tran Anh Dung stated that, despite numerous economic difficulties both domestically and internationally in 2023, under the unified leadership of Party committees at all levels, the flexible and decisive direction and management of the government at all levels, and the efforts of the entire population and business community, the socio-economic situation of Nam Dinh province in 2023 remained stable and achieved many comprehensive results.
