DNVN - With the message "Advancing the Intelligent World", Huawei brings practical experiences of 5.5G commercialization applications, introduces and displays the ecosystem of the latest products, solutions and AI devices needed for the mobile AI era at Mobile World Congress Shanghai - MWC Shanghai 2024.
In 2024, leading operators in the Middle East and China have begun to deploy and launch 5.5G data packages, with many operators launching 5.5G packages based on differentiated network experiences.
David Wang, Executive Director of the Board and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Huawei ICT Infrastructure, emphasized: “April 2024 marks the 5-year milestone of 5G commercialization in China. Over the past half decade, 5G commercialization has achieved certain successes, creating a strong impact on the global mobile industry. 2024 continues to mark the beginning of the mobile AI era by accelerating the commercialization of 5.5G and AI-integrated devices. These technologies will be the key to strongly promoting the popular use of intelligent services. This is not only an era that will change the way people use machines and devices, but also change the production of mobile devices and content creation; promote the development of society and bring many new opportunities to the mobile industry."
Huawei representative also emphasized that the company will continue to accelerate the development of 5.5G with two strategies: "Network for AI" and "AI for Network" to explore new business values. We hope to continue to cooperate with industry partners to seize the great opportunities from the era of mobile AI, shaping an intelligent world."
There are now more than 1.8 billion 5G users in the world, and network operators have taken advantage of 5G and applied it to many different fields. Services such as New Calling, Cloud Phones, and Glasses-free 3D... place higher demands on the network such as faster speeds and lower latency.
In terms of industrial services, the RedCap ecosystem has also grown stronger; Passive IoT has also been upgraded to be ready for wider market applications; Internet of Vehicles (IoV) applications require higher uplink access speeds, etc. In the near future, the world will continue to benefit from the advanced network commercialization process, when reaching 100 billion connections driven by services in all scenarios and industry development thanks to new business models.
The world's leading carriers are looking to take advantage of 5.5G. More than 30 carriers have completed technical verification and testing of 5.5G networks. Nearly 20 smartphone models are on the market that support multi-network integration, and many models come with this feature pre-installed.
Around 10 operators have announced plans to commercialize 5.5G, including the launch of 5.5G network packages and other related services. Several operators in the Middle East and China have begun deploying 5.5G 3-carrier aggregation (3CC) networks with downlink speeds reaching 5 Gbps, and many operators are introducing business models based on 5.5G networks.
2024 marks the first commercial deployment of 5.5G and F5.5G gigabit optical networks. The combination of networks, Cloud and AI will help smart applications become more popular and developed, enhancing and diversifying user experiences.
