Seize the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help Vietnam break through

On the morning of October 28, the inauguration ceremony of the new operating facility of the National Innovation Center (NIC) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, combined with the opening of the Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2023 (VIIE 2203) officially took place at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park (Hanoi).

Speaking at the event, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said: "Today's inauguration ceremony is of great significance, marking the formation of not only a national innovation space but also a symbol of Vietnam's determination to promote rapid and sustainable growth model innovation based on science, technology and innovation. Building an independent and highly autonomous economy, successfully implementing the country's industrialization and modernization.

The center not only connects the domestic innovation ecosystem, but also connects with the network of innovation centers in the region and the world. Contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position in fulfilling the mission of becoming the center of innovation in the region and the world."

According to the Minister, NIC Hoa Lac has its own unique features. This is one of the first innovation center models in the world owned by the State, serving the common goals of the country. It has a special mechanism stipulated in a separate Decree of the Government and is invested and operated entirely by socialized capital.

These characteristics are expected to turn the National Innovation Center into a nucleus to promote the development of Vietnam's innovation ecosystem, helping Vietnam seize the once-in-a-millennium opportunity of the fourth industrial revolution to break through and rise up.

"The Center's facility in Hoa Lac is ready for official inauguration and operation. With a well-invested and modern infrastructure, the center will be a place where a dynamic ecosystem in the region converges. A place where large technology corporations, businesses and domestic and foreign talents gather. Providing workspace, research, incubation, and bringing innovative projects to a new level" - the Minister assessed.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment is aware that these are only initial results. The journey of innovation and creativity ahead is fraught with difficulties, challenges and new requirements from practice.

"With the Party's policies and orientations and the close direction and management of the Government and the Prime Minister, we can believe in a new wave of development of the Vietnamese innovation ecosystem. A future when mentioning innovation, the regional and world communities will immediately mention Vietnam and the National Innovation Center. Thereby, contributing to arousing the aspiration to develop the country, strongly promoting the cultural values, Vietnamese people and the strength of the times, mobilizing all resources, developing the economy quickly and sustainably.

In the coming time, the Ministry of Planning and Investment will continue to closely coordinate with ministries, sectors, and domestic and international agencies and organizations to continue to build and operate the National Innovation Center effectively and successfully," said the Minister.
