Increase competitive advantage through digital transformation, green transformation
With the theme “Industrial transformation, a new driving force for sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City”, the forum aims to share experiences and receive contributions from financial institutions, corporations, speakers, prestigious domestic and international experts… on the fields of socio-economic development, goals and key programs of the city.
This year's forum has the participation of representatives of Vietnamese ministries and branches; international financial institutions (World Bank, IMF, IFC, ADB...), international organizations such as the World Economic Forum (WEF); the business community, domestic and foreign experts in the fields of economics, technology, industrial transformation and sustainable development.
This is the second consecutive year that Nam A Bank has accompanied the program through many practical activities such as: participating in the exhibition at the Green Growth Product and Service Introduction Space in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024 (GRECO 2024); parallel discussion session at the forum with the topic: "The role of businesses and stakeholders in industrial transformation"...
Contributing his ideas to this year's forum, Mr. Vo Hoang Hai - Deputy General Director of Nam A Bank shared: "To successfully transform industry, it is necessary to create a symbiotic ecosystem - where member businesses can share resources and take advantage of each other. In addition, from the government's perspective, local authorities need to create synchronous infrastructure from hard infrastructure to soft infrastructure; from transportation systems, energy, seaports... to innovation centers, 4.0 industry centers. Therefore, the form of public-private partnership (PPP) plays a very important role in this transformation. From there, effectively mobilize resources from capital to technology, experience... of the private segment".
“At the same time, in the context of the 4.0 revolution, for businesses to successfully transform, they need to focus on improving the technological skills of the workforce so that no one is left behind in the profound and comprehensive changes of the current business environment. At the same time, they need to start implementing green transformation and digital transformation as soon as possible to increase competitive advantage,” Mr. Vo Hoang Hai emphasized.
The transformation requires large and medium- and long-term capital investment. From the perspective of a financial institution, a representative of Nam A Bank said that the bank plays the role of a financial intermediary providing "green" and preferential capital to the business community, especially SMEs. From there, Nam A Bank actively participates in the capital market to lead medium and long-term capital to the business community.
Nam A Bank and the journey of sustainable development
In this year's series of activities, Nam A Bank has introduced many solutions on banking technology and green credit. The Bank has been implementing the core strategy of "digital transformation and green transformation" to realize the goal of sustainable development, contributing to creating growth momentum for Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the whole country in general.
Regarding digital transformation, Nam A Bank quickly adapts and integrates into the "wave" of technology to provide products and services to meet the increasingly diverse needs of customers.
Currently, Nam A Bank's digital ecosystem such as Robot OPBA, Open Banking, ONEBANK... has brought different, superior and seamless experiences to customers. Since its implementation, ONEBANK has grown rapidly at a rate of more than 40% per quarter, attracting more than 143,000 new users as of September 2024. The total number of transactions at ONEBANK reached nearly 1.7 million, contributing significantly to the development of this bank in the digital banking sector.
In addition, over the years, Nam A Bank has "greened" its credit portfolio, continuously building a diverse portfolio of green credit products. The bank continues to lead in the field of green credit, implementing a green credit value chain with a focus on the agriculture, aquaculture and renewable energy sectors.
So far, the bank has achieved a fairly large scale in its credit portfolio, accounting for about 10% of Nam A Bank's credit scale. The bank has disbursed more than VND 12,000 billion with nearly 10,000 loans. Nam A Bank also aims to increase the proportion of green credit to 20 - 25% (2 - 3 times the current proportion).
In Nam A Bank's overall lending policy, not only does it apply the environmental and social management system (ESMS) in its green credit loan portfolio, but it also aims to operate in an environmentally friendly and responsible manner.
The Bank is also implementing the Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance Risk Management Project (E-Environmental, S-Social, G-Governance - ESG) and Sustainable Development Report at Nam A Bank with 2 components: Building and completing the Sustainable Development Report and Integrating ESG into the risk management framework at Nam A Bank.
With a comprehensive "green - digital" strategy, Nam A Bank is gradually affirming its position in the market as one of the leading banks in sustainable development.
