DNO - On the afternoon of November 22, Da Nang International Airport held a conference to inform about the production and business activities in 2024 and deploy key projects in 2025.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Phan Kieu Hung, Director of Da Nang International Airport, said that with the goal of striving to upgrade the domestic passenger terminal (T1) of Da Nang International Airport to 4-star standards by 2025, in 2024 the unit has invested in upgrading the internal port traffic system, infrastructure, equipment and services.

Of which, investment in upgrading 19 project items and works with a total value of more than 200 billion VND, including: construction of the northern infrastructure land; repair of the internal port traffic road from Nguyen Van Linh toll station to gate 2; deployment of the non-stop car toll collection system (ETC); expansion of the business class passenger waiting room; expansion of the passenger waiting area at the domestic arrival hall; addition of check-in points at the arrival hall and passenger terminal waiting room...

In 2024, Da Nang International Airport was evaluated by Skytrax as a 5-star international passenger terminal (T2); Da Nang International Airport was for the first time included in the "Top 100 best airports in the world " and "Top 10 most improved airports in the world"; voted "Top 5 best airports with a capacity of serving from 5 - 20 million passengers/year).

In 2024, Da Nang International Airport is estimated to achieve total revenue of 1,615 billion VND, contribute more than 110 billion VND to the budget; at the same time, implement social security policies of more than 3.2 billion VND.

In 2025, Da Nang International Airport will start construction of a Cargo Terminal on an expected land area of ​​28,745.9m2 with a total project investment of VND 350 billion; building infrastructure on the remaining land north of the airport.

In particular, the planned investment in the construction of the T1 terminal expansion project according to the approved plan is 10 million passengers/year.

To date, Vietnam Airlines Corporation (ACV) has recorded development investment capital of 5,000 billion VND - which can be adjusted to increase the total investment for the project.

However, the Ministry of Transport is considering completing appraisal procedures to submit to the Prime Minister for approval of adjustments to the planning of Da Nang International Airport in the coming time.

Therefore, the unit recommends that competent authorities promptly approve the adjustment of the planning of Da Nang International Airport so that ACV has a basis for implementation to ensure compliance with regulations.
