DNO - On the afternoon of January 7, speaking at the conference to summarize the activities of the information and communications sector in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong acknowledged and praised the consensus and efforts to achieve the results that the city's information and communications sector achieved in 2024.

Emphasizing that 2025 is a very important year for the country and the city, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the information and communications sector to continue promoting the achieved results to further promote the set tasks.

In particular, focusing on closely following and effectively implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; organizing the inauguration and putting into operation Software Park No. 2 to meet the space needs of businesses, creating conditions for businesses to develop; building a Digital Transformation project to contribute to promoting and creating momentum for the city's socio-economic development in the 2026-2030 period, with a vision to 2035...

According to the report at the conference, in 2024, the total revenue of the entire information and communications industry will reach VND 39,888 billion, an increase of 9.07% compared to 2023. Software export turnover will reach 165 million USD, an increase of 11.6% compared to 2023.

The digital economy contributed 20.69% to the city's GRDP, completing the target 2 years ahead of the city's resolution on digital transformation. The information technology industry continues to affirm itself as one of the 5 important economic sectors of Da Nang city. The scale of added value of the whole industry at current prices in 2024 reached 10,261 billion VND, accounting for 6.8% of the GRDP structure of the whole economy. The added value of the whole industry reached 8%.

Digital transformation and smart city building to enhance Da Nang's brand have achieved many positive results through the city continuing to rank first in the Vietnam ICT Index among provinces and centrally-run cities and being the only locality to lead the country in this index for 14 consecutive years.

At the same time, the city has ranked first in provincial digital transformation for the third consecutive year; topping all three pillars: Digital Government, Digital Economy, Digital Society; for the fifth consecutive year being awarded the Vietnam Outstanding Digital Transformation Award...
