Russia's TASS news agency said in a written statement on July 29 that the Pentagon confirmed it had prepared two arms aid packages for Ukraine, with a total value of up to 1.7 billion USD.

The first package, worth $200 million, includes air defense interceptor missiles, ammunition for rocket and artillery systems, and anti-tank weapons from the U.S. military stockpile. The second package, worth $1.5 billion, will support Kiev’s air defense capabilities under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).

The Pentagon said Ukraine will also receive ammunition for the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS), short- and medium-altitude air defense munitions, RIM-7 air defense missiles, electronic warfare equipment, High Mobility Multiple Launch Rocket System (HIMARS) ammunition, 155 mm and 105 mm artillery shells, 120 mm mortars, precision-guided bombs, TOW missiles, Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems, small arms, explosives and demolition equipment, ammunition, secure communications systems, commercial satellite imagery services, and various spare parts.

According to TASS, since Joe Biden became US President, Washington has allocated more than $56.1 billion in weapons to Ukraine, including more than $55.4 billion since February 2022, when the Russia-Ukraine conflict broke out.

In another development, according to Euromaidan Press, people in western Poland are witnessing an increase in US military traffic as the country's military moves equipment from German bases to new facilities in Powidz.

Specifically, the US military is moving armored vehicles from Germany to a base near Poznań, Poland as part of efforts to reinforce the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)'s eastern flank.

Residents of the Lubuskie and Greater Poland provinces have seen an increase in tanks and combat vehicles on local roads. However, regional authorities have reportedly assured that “this movement is not caused by any current events.”

The operation is part of a pre-planned plan to move US military equipment from military bases in Germany to warehouses in Powidz.

The move, coordinated by the Polish Army's Movement Coordination Center, comes after the US completed construction of a base in Świętoszów, Poland, that can accommodate 1,000 troops and is expected to continue until the end of September.

According to Radio Zet, 87 tanks, 150 infantry fighting vehicles and 18 self-propelled artillery units will be transferred to the base in Powidz, central Poland.

Since the warehouses in Powidz are located next to the airport, it allows for quick movement of equipment along with ammunition if necessary.

Previously, these weapons were stored at a military warehouse in Mannheim and their appearance in Powidz will significantly increase the US presence in Poland.

Earlier, the US Department of Defense's The Stars and Stripes newspaper revealed that this activity had begun on June 28. The US equipment and ammunition warehouse at the Powidz base, which began construction in the summer of 2022, will be fully operational in 2025. The first batch of 14 Abrams M1 tanks was delivered to Powidz at the end of June 2024.
