US successfully tests new medium-range hypersonic missile
According to the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies, the US military has tested the medium-range hypersonic missile system (LRHW) or Dark Eagle.
The Dark Eagle rocket launched from Cape Canaveral Spaceport. This was probably the first successful test.
LRHW has a range of up to 3,000km. At the same time, the missile is also equipped with a hypersonic glide device with the designers introducing a speed of over 6,000 km/h.

The missile is being developed by Lockheed Martin. It is designed to carry out a sudden, massive missile attack to penetrate missile defense systems or protected targets.
Details about the Dark Eagle remain classified, but it is part of a new US offensive weapons development strategy after Washington withdrew from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty) in 2020. The agreement prohibits signatories from possessing ground-launched ballistic and cruise missiles with ranges between 500 and 5,500km.
North Korea is developing self-propelled artillery using NATO standard ammunition
North Korea has developed and manufactured a self-propelled artillery system that uses NATO-standard 155mm shells, which are common in South Korea and Western countries.
North Korea military expert Vitaly Lebedev wrote in the Russian Defense Magazine that the appearance of self-propelled guns has recently appeared and “obviously has its reasons”. “Firstly, the experience of current developments has proven the advantages of 155mm guns over 152mm guns, secondly, it is worth noting that the South Korean army is using artillery according to NATO standards,” expert Vitaly Lebedev emphasized.
According to Mr. Lebedev, this is because if enemy artillery is captured, North Korean soldiers will also be able to use this type of ammunition.
New engine will increase stealth capabilities of Su-57 aircraft
The new engine with variable-vector nozzles that Russia's fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jet may receive will help increase the aircraft's stealth capabilities.
The American magazine Military Watch Magazine (MWM) made the above assessment based on photos of aircraft with the new AL-51F1 jet engine (“Product 30”).

“The integration of the AL-51F1 engine is expected to enhance stealth capabilities, facilitate high-speed operations, reduce operating costs and maintenance requirements, and increase the power of onboard subsystems such as radar,” the publication writes.
MWM also suggests that the new engines will make the Su-57 one of the most powerful fifth-generation fighters.
In November 2024, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu announced that the Su-57 fighter jet had performed well in special operations. Along with that, the first photos showed that the Su-57's cabin was equipped with short-range R-74 missiles, helping the aircraft increase its stealth capabilities in combat.
US Army upgrades Bradley infantry fighting vehicle
The U.S. Army has awarded a $656.2 million contract to York, Pennsylvania-based BAE Systems Land Armaments LP to upgrade active and reserve Bradley infantry fighting vehicles to the M2A4 and M7A4 levels.
This operation is financed from grants to Ukraine and is intended to compensate the US military for providing weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since the start of the conflict in Ukraine, the US has delivered more than 300 Bradley armored vehicles in the M2A2 ODS and M2A3 versions to Kiev. These deliveries have depleted the US military's weapons stockpile.

The centerpiece of the new contract is the M2A4E1 variant, which is equipped with the Israeli-developed Iron Fist active protection system. According to the Pentagon, the system detects (using AESA radar and infrared cameras) and neutralizes threats such as anti-tank missiles, grenade launchers and drones.
Additional improvements to the M2A4E1 include improved mobility for traveling over difficult terrain and a climate control system designed to improve soldier comfort in harsh environments. Primary armament includes a 25mm Bushmaster cannon and a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun.
“This program pursues two goals: Ensuring the maintenance of combat effectiveness of the army, despite the transfer of equipment to Ukraine and enhancing the technological and tactical potential of the army,” said a representative of the US Department of Defense.
Germany supplies additional Leopard-2A4 tanks to the Czech Republic
German company Rheinmetall has revealed some details of the contract signed with the Czech Ministry of Defense for the supply of additional Leopard-2A4 main battle tanks.
The agreement was signed on December 3 by Bjorn Bernhard, General Director of Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH and Lubor Koudelka, Director General of the Department of Procurement and Armaments of the Czech Ministry of Defense.
The total value of the contract with the Czech army is estimated at 161 million euros. The order is for 14 modernized Leopard-2A4s. They are due to be delivered by the end of 2026. In addition to the supply of tanks, the deal also includes a large package of ammunition and logistics.

Tanks destined for the Czech army were mainly received from the Swiss Armed Forces and converted to the configuration required by this Central European country.
Earlier, Germany signed agreements on the delivery of 28 Leopard-2A4 tanks and 2 Buffel-3 recovery vehicles to the Czech Armed Forces from reserves to compensate for the number of weapons supplied to Ukraine. After the implementation of the new contract, the Czech Armed Forces will be equipped with 42 Leopard-2A4 tanks and 2 Buffel-3 recovery vehicles. The delivery of the first 28 tanks will be completed by the end of 2025.
Thanks to this rearmament, a full-fledged tank battalion meeting NATO standards will be formed in the Czech Armed Forces.
