The US Chamber of Commerce's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Committee has urged Congress and the US government to soon develop regulations for AI tools and consider this a top priority.
The AI Commission predicts that virtually every U.S. business and government agency will be using AI within the next 10 to 20 years. The agency recommends that leaders launch initiatives to create strong laws and regulations for responsible AI development and ethical use.
Specifically, there is a need for policies that promote human rights and innovation, prepare the workforce for an AI-centric environment... The AI Commission believes that failing to regulate AI will harm the economy, affect individual rights, and limit the development and deployment of beneficial technologies.
