In recent times, from capital sources of national target programs, Muong Khuong district has focused on investing, expanding and upgrading rural roads to meet the needs of people traveling and transporting agricultural products.
Although only 50% of the work has been completed, the people of Sang Lung Phin village (Nam Chay commune) are very excited that the 2.5 km long road to the production area has been widened and half of the entire length of the road has been concreted.
Previously, this route was a trail, impassable in the rain due to the steep slope and slippery terrain. Unfortunately, when harvesting agricultural products, if it rained, people would leave them in the fields and wait for the sunny weather to transport them home. However, in just over a month, when the route was completed, people would "carefreely" transport agricultural products from the production area home even in the rain.
In addition to the Sang Lung Phin village road, Nam Chay commune has opened 3 rural traffic routes, including the Gia Khau A village road, 2.6 km long, leading to the corn, tea, and fruit tree production area with an area of 100 hectares, serving the travel and agricultural product transportation needs of the people in Gia Khau A village and Mao Phin village; the Lung Phin A village road, 5 km long, leading to the agricultural production area with an area of 150 hectares of Lung Phin A village and Sang Lung Phin village; the Mao Phin village road, 1.5 km long, serving the travel and agricultural product transportation needs of the people in the village.
Mr. Cu Tho, Chairman of Nam Chay Commune People's Committee, said: From the capital source of national target programs, in 2 years (2022 and 2023), Nam Chay commune was assigned to be the investor of 4 rural traffic routes. Currently, the routes have been implemented and basically completed. Thanks to the roads, agricultural production areas have been expanded, the area of local key crops such as bananas, tea, and fruit trees has increased sharply.
Not only Nam Chay, in many communes in Muong Khuong district, the investment in rural traffic routes has contributed to promoting local socio-economic development. These include: Hoang Phi Chai - Lung Cang (Ta Ngai Cho commune) 2.5 km long; Chu Lin Pho - Ma Ngan (Lung Khau Nhin commune) 2.5 km long; Ta San - Na Lang (Lung Vai commune) 2.5 km long...
In 2022 and 2023, Muong Khuong district invested in building 62 rural roads with a length of 181.8 km, up to now 56 km have been concreted and is continuing to speed up the construction progress of the remaining roads.
Mr. Pham Duc Trung, Head of the Economic Infrastructure Department of Muong Khuong District, said: The investment in building rural roads in the district has been implemented throughout the district, receiving high consensus from the people. The concrete roads have facilitated people's travel, brought a new look to the countryside, and at the same time are the driving force for agricultural economic development towards commodity production.
