Duong Thuy Vi's score in the women's swordsmanship event was 9.623. The swordsmanship event score is added to the spearmanship event score to calculate the medal. Yesterday, Thuy Vi won the highest score in the spearmanship event with a score of 9.606. This is a very meaningful gold medal for Duong Thuy Vi as she won it on her 30th birthday. Last year, at the 31st SEA Games, after 5 years of Wushu not being included in the competition, Duong Thuy Vi still excellently won 2 gold medals and 1 bronze medal.

It is not difficult to predict that Duong Thuy Vi will win a gold medal at this SEA Games because this athlete who has just turned 30 is a world- class athlete.

She owns a huge collection of gold medals: 4 SEA Games gold medals in 3 tournaments from 2013 - 2017, including champion in the Swordplay category in all 3 tournaments, gold medals in the Spearplay and Combined Swordplay categories at the 17th Asian Games held in Incheon, Korea; 2-time World Wushu Champion in 2013 and 2017, in the Spearplay category.

In July 2022, Thuy Vi continued to shine with a historic gold medal for Vietnamese sports at the World Games held in the US.

At the 32nd SEA Games, Wushu has 23 competition events, including 14 Taolu (performance) events and 9 Sanshou (combat) events.

However, according to the regulations, only the host country is allowed to register all events, while other countries are only allowed to register 10 out of 14 Taolu events and 6 out of 9 Sanshou events (70% of the total events).

The Vietnamese Wushu team aims to win at least 3 gold medals at the 32nd SEA Games.
