Accordingly, tuition fees in Can Tho City are divided into two areas: districts and counties. In the counties, the tuition fee for preschool is 71,000 VND/month/student; for junior high school is 65,000 VND/month/student; and for high school is 75,000 VND/month/student.
In the district, tuition fees are 32,000 VND/month/student for preschool; 33,000 VND/month/student for lower secondary school; and 43,000 VND/month/student for upper secondary school.
At the same time, Can Tho implements tuition fee exemption for 5-year-old children as stipulated in Clause 6, Article 15 of Decree No. 81/2021/ND-CP. Primary school students are also exempt from tuition fees as stipulated in Clause 1, Article 14 of Decree No. 81/2021/ND-CP.
Tuition fees are collected monthly if students voluntarily agree; schools may also collect a lump sum for the entire semester or the entire school year. For preschool and general education institutions, tuition fees can be collected for a maximum of 9 months per school year. Simultaneously, efforts will continue to be made to encourage and educate parents and students to pay tuition and other fees using cashless payment methods.
Educational institutions are responsible for informing and guiding parents and students on the procedures for tuition fee exemptions and reductions, learning cost support, and meal support for preschool children, in accordance with the regulations. For institutions that partially self-finance their operating expenses and those whose operating expenses are fully covered by the state budget: a minimum of 40% of tuition fee revenue (after deducting expenses directly related to tuition fee collection) must be provided.
In addition, the City Department of Education and Training also provides specific guidance on the collection and use of other fees; voluntary donations and contributions; and operating funds for the Parent-Teacher Association.
