The water level measured at 1:00 a.m. on September 11, 2024 at Ben De was 4.37 m (0.37 m above alert level 3), at Gian Khau 4.00 m (0.30 m above alert level 3); on the Day River in Ninh Binh 3.65 m (0.15 m above alert level 3).
It is forecasted that in the next 12-24 hours, the water level on the Hoang Long River at Ben De and Gian Khau will continue to rise, after a slow change. This morning (September 11, 2024), the flood peak at Ben De is likely to reach 4.60-4.80 m (above alert level 3 : 0.60-0.80 m); at Gian Khau, it will reach 4.20-4.40 m (above alert level 3: 0.50-0.70 m) .
On the Day River in Ninh Binh, the water level continues to rise; it is likely to peak at noon this afternoon (September 11, 2024) at 3.80-4.00 m (above alert level 3: 0.30-0.50 m).
Rising river water levels combined with heavy rains caused widespread flooding in riverside areas and communes of Gia Tien, Gia Hung, Gia Thinh; 2 schools in Kenh Ga hamlet, Gia Thinh commune (outside the dike) of Gia Vien district; low-lying residential areas in communes of Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh city, Hoa Lu; flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas, steep slopes, communes of Nho Quan district, Hoa Lu city, Tam Diep city.
Flood disaster risk reaches level 3.
