Heavy rain and whirlwinds damaged many houses in Ga Ry commune.

(QNO) - Major Pham Duc Truong - Deputy Political Commissar of Ga Ry Border Guard Station (Tay Giang) said that at around 12:30 on April 22, in Ga Ry commune, there was a hailstorm accompanied by heavy rain and strong gusts of wind.

Due to heavy rain and wind, many houses in Da'ding village, Ga Ry commune were damaged.

According to Major Pham Duc Truong, the rain that lasted for 14 hours damaged many houses of 16 households in Da'ding village, Ga Ry commune; of which 4 houses collapsed completely, 2 houses had their roofs completely blown off and moved 2m, the remaining houses had their corrugated iron sheets blown away and were crooked.

As soon as the rain stopped, Ga Ry Border Guard Station sent 12 officers to inspect and assess the damage in the villages; of which Da'ding village suffered the most damage to houses, fortunately there were no casualties. Border guards and local people quickly carried out initial cleanup.
