According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and early this morning (June 24), in the Northern region and Thanh Hoa there was moderate rain, heavy rain, and locally very heavy rain.
Rainfall from 7pm last night to 7am this morning was over 100mm in some places such as: Pa U (Lai Chau) 117mm, Xin Chai (Dien Bien) 102mm, Phu Cuong (Hoa Binh) 108mm, Dong Ha (Ha Giang) 143mm, Duc Thong (Cao Bang) 100.4mm, Dong Vien (Bac Kan) 144.6mm,...
It is forecasted that in the next 1-2 days, in the North, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, there will continue to be very heavy rain.
Specifically, the rainfall in the North and Thanh Hoa from 1pm this afternoon to 24 hours later is 50-100mm, in some places over 120mm; in Nghe An it is 30-60mm, in some places over 70mm.
In the next 24 hours, rainfall in the Northeast, Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An will be 30-60mm, with some places over 80mm.
It is forecasted that from June 26-27, the North and North Central regions will continue to have showers and thunderstorms, with some areas having moderate to heavy rain. After that, heavy rain in this area will gradually decrease. By June 29, there will only be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some areas having heavy rain in the late afternoon and at night.
Continuous heavy rains in recent days have caused the soil to be "saturated". Soil moisture models show that some areas in the provinces of Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Hoa Binh, Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son and Bac Giang are nearly saturated (over 90%) or have reached a saturated state.
Meteorological experts warn that this development poses a high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes in many districts. In particular, beware of heavy rain in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
With heavy rain lasting until the end of June in the North, the meteorological agency believes that hydroelectric reservoirs will have improved water levels and maintain power generation.
In addition, today, from Nghe An to Phu Yen, it is still hot, some places are extremely hot with the highest temperature of 35-37 degrees, some places are over 37 degrees. From tomorrow (June 25), the heat will continue to decrease.
From the night of June 24-27, this area will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night. From June 28-July 2, the hot and harsh weather will return.
