Beautiful Japanese cherry blossom season on Tet 2025 in Dien Bien

In the middle of Dien Bien's largest lake, there is a "flower island" with thousands of Japanese cherry blossom trees competing to bloom during the New Year holiday.

At the end of December every year, the "flower island" or "peach blossom island" on Pa Khoang Lake, in Pa Khoang Commune, Dien Bien Phu City, Dien Bien Province always attracts a large number of tourists, especially young people.

On this island, there are thousands of Japanese cherry blossom trees with many different varieties of flowers. Therefore, for many years now, at the end of the year, the flower island has become a destination that many people come to visit, experience and find a sense of peace and relaxation.

For the first time in Dien Bien, Ba Thi Mai Huong - a tourist from Hanoi chose the flower island as a priority destination in her journey to explore the historical land. "The air here feels very fresh, the scenery is beautiful, although the flowers have not bloomed much yet, I still feel very wonderful" - Huong said.

Also present at the flower island, Nguyen Nhat Khanh - a young person from Dien Bien Phu City also said: "Coming to the cherry blossom island is like a spiritual medicine, helping me dispel all fatigue and anxiety. As a university student far from home, every time I return home, I am healed with a feeling of great peace."

Ms. Bui Ha Phuong from Dien Bien Phu City also often comes here during the flower season. Ms. Phuong said that the scenery of Pa Khoang Lake in spring is extremely poetic with the Japanese cherry blossoms blooming brilliantly.

Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Tran Le - the owner of the cherry blossom island - said: "Since 2006, I brought the first cherry trees from Japan to this land to plant. After nearly 20 years, thousands of cherry blossom trees are now blooming. All cherry blossom varieties planted here are originally from Japan."

With an entrance fee of 50,000 VND/person, visitors will have the opportunity to experience memorable moments with cherry blossoms and take brilliant Tet photos.

Most of the Japanese cherry blossom varieties are present on the flower island.

Currently, Dien Bien Phu City is urgently planning to organize the Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu, with the theme "Muong Village in Spring - Cherry Blossoms in Bloom" on the flower island. The festival is expected to be held for 2 days, from January 11-12, 2025.

Previously in 2018, for the first time, Dien Bien province organized the Cherry Blossom Festival to promote tourism and introduce Japanese culture.
