The bonsai exhibition taking place in Thanh Hoa City brings together hundreds of bonsai trees from all over the country. Each tree costs from tens of millions to tens of billions of dong.

Notably, the work of the banyan tree "Throne of Vietnam" on display is worth tens of billions of dong.

Mr. Le Duc Nam (born 1976, Ha Dong district, Hanoi) - the owner of the bonsai tree, said that in 2004, he bought this tree for 10 million VND. Because of his passion for bonsai, he created and completed the above work.

“Over the past 20 years, I have worked hard to care for and create this new banyan tree with such a perfect shape. Up to now, the tree is about 1.4m high, with a canopy of about 2m wide. The reason I named the work “Throne of Vietnam” is simply because it looks like a throne of kings and lords in the past,” said Mr. Nam.

Regarding the value of the above bonsai tree, Mr. Nam said that no one can accurately price the tree because whether it is beautiful or not, expensive or cheap depends on each player.

“Someone offered 6 billion VND for this work in 2019, but I didn’t sell it. Now the value of the tree is up to tens of billions, but I have no intention of selling it,” Mr. Nam revealed.

In addition to the precious banyan tree, the exhibition also has many other ornamental plants worth billions.

Notable among them is an ancient elm tree with a root diameter of more than 1m and a height of more than 3m, introduced by Mr. Nguyen Hong Nam (born in 1984, in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh), with a price of about 4 billion VND.
