Ha Tinh weather forecast is for heavy rain after September 12, so in the fields, farmers everywhere are rushing to harvest their crops and bring the rice home as soon as possible.
Mr. Le Van An (Mai Phu commune, Loc Ha district) is busy collecting rice.
In the large fields of Loc Ha district, these days large combine harvesters are still operating at full capacity, working overtime continuously to help people finish the harvest as soon as possible.
Mr. Le Van An (Mai Phu commune, Loc Ha district) said: "I farm in an open, windy area, so I am often accused of tornadoes. At this time, when the weather is bad, it is considered a total loss. Since yesterday, my family has started renting harvesters for the ripe rice fields. "A day early is a good thing."
Farmers mobilized all forces to support each other to bring rice home safely.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan (Hong Loc commune, Loc Ha district) shared: "This summer-autumn crop, my family sowed nearly 6 sao of rice, mainly varieties like Khang Dan 18. Thanks to the simultaneous sowing, the rice area ripened simultaneously. Learning from previous crops, when I saw that the rice plants were more than 80% ripe, I hired a harvester to bring them home, the estimated yield was nearly 2.5 quintals/sao".
Mr. Le Hong Co - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Loc Ha district informed: "Thanks to the arrangement of reasonable seed structure, proper care according to technical processes, ensuring irrigation water sources, timely pest control, the entire rice area of the district has developed well. Up to this point, the whole district has harvested more than 1,855 hectares, reaching more than 75% of the area, with an expected yield of 44.1 quintals/ha".
Mr. Nguyen Tien Tuan (Thach Trung commune, Ha Tinh city) is busy bringing rice home.
These days, the rice harvest atmosphere of farmers in Ha Tinh city is also very urgent. Thanks to the concentrated structure of the main varieties, rice in the localities ripens quite evenly, creating favorable conditions for farmers to harvest.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Tuan (Thach Trung commune, Ha Tinh city) said: "For the past 2 days (from September 11 to 12 - PV), many harvesters have been working in the fields at the same time, so the progress has been accelerated. After harvesting, the rice has been transported to the shore and taken home. Now that the rice is ripe, there may not be enough space to dry it when harvested, but just bring it home to be sure and then think about it later."
Farmers' rice harvesting work is more urgent than ever.
In a short time, 5 sao of rice of Mrs. Le Thi Hai (Thach Ha commune, Ha Tinh city) was harvested by combine harvester. “This field is deep and low, so heavy rain will cause it to be flooded. With the motto “green at home is better than old in the field”, we immediately dry the rice after harvesting,” said Mrs. Hai.
To ensure the most scientific results, the harvester is regulated according to each field area, harvesting in a rolling manner, making it easy for farmers to monitor and arrange a drying plan after harvest.
Multi-function harvesters have been mobilized to harvest, contributing to speeding up progress.
In Huong Son, the whole district has harvested more than 1,320 hectares of summer-autumn rice (over 58% of the total area). The remaining rice is being harvested by farmers and brought to the warehouse. Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (Son Le commune, Huong Son district) shared: "I take advantage of all the sunny days to complete the farm work before the rain comes. I harvest and dry the rice. It will probably be dry by tomorrow. So I feel secure."
According to the Ha Tinh Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection, by September 12, the whole province had harvested more than 40,982 hectares out of 44,568 hectares, reaching 92% of the area. The average yield is expected to reach over 50.3 quintals/hectare.
“With heavy rain forecast to occur at the end of the crop, the agricultural sector and local authorities are actively directing and urging people to concentrate all human resources to urgently harvest the ripe rice fields. At the same time, there are plans to mobilize machinery and equipment to help farmers in harvesting as well as post-harvest preservation,” said Mr. Nguyen Tri Ha - Head of the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Ha Tinh.
According to the Ha Tinh Hydrometeorological Station, from September 12 to 16, due to the influence of continental high pressure combined with the tropical convergence zone, Ha Tinh will have moderate rain, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms. Warning: - Thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind can affect human life and agricultural production. - Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas and the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas. |
