To see the colorful highland landscape, Ms. Hoang Lan (37 years old, owner of a fashion clothing store in Hanoi) and her relatives and friends traveled by private car to Mu Cang Chai. Day 1 At around 3:00 p.m., the group departed from Hanoi to Mu Cang Chai. Ms. Lan chose to go on the weekend so that the children in the family would not have to miss school. After 8 hours of traveling, she arrived at the center of Mu Cang Chai town and rented a room at an affordable price, only 300,000 VND/room. "I chose to stay in the central area for convenience in traveling to tourist attractions," Ms. Lan said. Day 2 Itinerary Mu Cang Chai - Nghia Lo - Tram Tau. In the morning, after breakfast, the group visited Mam Xoi hill, in the afternoon visited Mong Ngu hill.

Day 3 The group moved: Tram Tau - Hanoi. After a relaxing night at a luxury resort for 1.9 million VND/day and night, the group moved back to Hanoi.

Ms. Lan has traveled to many places, but coming to the golden season of Mu Cang Chai is a different experience. Seeing the terraced fields winding around the hillsides, and breathing in the aroma of ripe rice filling her chest, this woman feels extremely relaxed.

Nguyen Ngoc Bich (27 years old, from Bac Ninh) also spent the last days of October to visit Mu Cang Chai. Bich shared the reason for coming here: "In August, I read that Mu Cang Chai was rated by the travel website Wanderlust Storytellers as one of the places "that seem not to exist in the world". This place was therefore ranked first in the list of 25 destinations possessing incredibly surreal beauty. Curious about this rating, I planned to come here and the scenery here really did not disappoint me".

The girl also said that because she was busy with work, she went to see the ripe rice later than expected. At first, Bich was worried that most of the rice had been harvested and had to look up information on travel websites to see if there was still rice in Mu Cang Chai at the end of October. Luckily, when she arrived, she still got some satisfactory photos.

Mu Cang Chai rice fields are still beautiful through October

Talking to Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Lu A Khua (Pung Luong commune, Mu Cang Chai), a local tour guide, said that at present, the rice is ripe so people have almost harvested it. However, at famous check-in spots such as Mong Ngu hill, Mam Xoi La Pan Tan, Mam Xoi Lao Chai, there are still beautiful rice fields. Tourists coming to visit at the end of October can still visit and take pictures at these locations. "If there are not many visitors this week, next week, people will gradually start harvesting rice in these areas," said Mr. Khua.

Mr. Nguyen The Hung (34 years old, Mu Cang Chai town), a tour guide and photographer, said that this year the number of visitors to Mu Cang Chai has decreased significantly. Many people are worried about unsafe travel when going to the mountains after the storm. "The number of visitors I guide is only 50% compared to last year," Mr. Hung said. According to Mr. Hung, at this time, visitors can choose a 2-day-1-night itinerary, costing about 2 million VND to both check-in the ripe rice fields and visit many interesting places. Mr. Hung's suggested 2-day-1-night itinerary: Day 1 : Travel through Khau Pha pass, one of the "four great peaks" in the Northwest (the pass is up to 30km long and 1200m high); enjoy Tu Le green rice; parachute on Khau Pha pass, visit the dinosaur spine. Day 2 : Visit Mam Xoi hill and Mong Ngu. These two points are about 15km apart, to get there visitors must go by motorbike.
