On October 15, the People's Committee of Phong Dien district (Thua Thien Hue) held a ceremony to announce Phong An commune meeting advanced new rural standards.
At the ceremony, Phong Dien District People's Committee announced the decision of the Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee recognizing Phong An commune as meeting advanced new rural standards in 2023.

Authorized by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Duc - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province awarded the certificate of recognition of Phong An commune meeting advanced new rural standards to the Party Committee, government and people of Phong An commune.
On this occasion, the Chairman of Phong Dien District People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 5 collectives and 10 individuals who had outstanding achievements in the movement to build Phong An commune to meet advanced new rural standards.
After completion and recognition of the commune as meeting new rural standards, the investment resources in new rural construction increased by more than 219 billion VND from the Central Government, the province, district, commune and people's contributions.
Phong An commune has focused on building economic and social infrastructure that has been gradually completed, linking rural development with urban development according to planning.

The commune has a reasonable economic structure and production organization, linking agriculture with rapid industrial and service development. Up to now, the rural appearance of the commune has increasingly improved, the material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved.
The average income per capita of the commune reached 60 million VND/person/year, the poverty rate decreased to 1.47%. The commune's main roads, inter-commune roads, inter-village roads, alleys and hamlets in the commune were concreted and hardened at a rate of 100%, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
The whole commune has 8/8 villages recognized by Phong Dien District People's Committee as meeting cultural standards, 5 schools meeting level 1 facility standards and 1 school meeting level 2 facility standards.
With the above results, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province signed a decision to recognize Phong An commune, Phong Dien district as meeting advanced new rural standards in 2023.
Along with Phong An, two other communes in the province, including Dien Loc (Phong Dien district) and Quang Tho (Quang Dien district), have also been recognized by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province as meeting advanced new rural standards in 2023.
