A private school in Ho Chi Minh City spends nearly 2 million VND on Tet holiday until 2025 for teachers, of which the highest bonus is 40 million VND/person.
On the afternoon of December 23, Mr. Bui Gia Hieu, Chairman of the Board of Tre Viet Primary - Secondary - High School (HCMC) informed that the highest bonus for the Lunar New Year 2025 for cadres, teachers and employees is 40 million VND/person, the lowest is more than 5 million VND/person. People who have worked for 12 months or more will receive the full Tet bonus according to regulations.
According to Mr. Hieu, salaries, bonuses and benefits for school staff are determined from the beginning of the school year. Those who work less than 12 months in 2024 will receive bonuses based on the corresponding number of months worked.
"The entire Tre Viet Primary - Secondary - High School currently has about 100 teachers and staff. The Tet bonus fund is around 2 billion VND. Compared to last year, the school's Tet bonus this year has increased, but not much," the school board chairman added.

Previously, MVLomonosov Secondary and High School was the first school in Hanoi to inform about the 2025 Lunar New Year bonus. It is expected that the average Tet bonus for teachers will be 22 million VND/person, the highest will be more than 35 million VND.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Tung, Principal of MV Lomonosov Secondary and High School, this is a worthy reward for the hard work and dedication of teachers over the past time.
The principal added that this Tet bonus is not really high because the school has 12 days off for Tet, so teachers' income in January 2025 will decrease. The school does not pay a fixed monthly salary but calculates the salary based on the number of teaching hours multiplied by the salary, so 12 days off will reduce income. Mr. Tung hopes that the Tet bonus will help a little bit for those days off.
