Master Trinh Huu Chung, Vice Principal in charge of Gia Dinh University, signed a notice to adjust the schedule for students to take a holiday on Hung Kings' death anniversary, April 30, May 1 and switch to online learning to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.
Accordingly, students of all courses will have 7 days off, starting from April 27 to May 3. Students will study online for the next week and make up for 2 corresponding days of the week after the holiday.
Specifically, second and third year students will study online from May 8 to May 13. Classes scheduled for the two days off (April 27 and 28) will make up for the two corresponding days of the week after the holiday (May 4 and 5) online.
Freshmen will study online from May 4 to May 6. Classes scheduled for the two days off (April 27 and 28) will be made up for on the two corresponding days of the week after the holiday (May 11 and 12) online.
Master Chung shared: “The school made the above decision based on Official Dispatch No. 1547 dated April 19 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on reactivating the campaign to protect people in risk groups in Covid-19 prevention and control activities, the Ministry of Education and Training's dispatch to strengthen Covid-19 prevention and control work and the development of the epidemic. This also helps students save on travel during the holidays.”
It is known that in recent days, Gia Dinh University has recorded a number of lecturers and staff infected with Covid-19. Therefore, Mr. Chung said that the school has made plans for disease prevention.
On the morning of April 26, more than 3,000 masks and 50 bottles of hand sanitizer were given out for free to lecturers and students upon entering the school.
Before announcing the holiday schedule, from April 20, the school requested all lecturers, staff, employees and students to proactively implement disease prevention measures such as wearing masks in public places, washing hands regularly with soap, cleaning the place of residence, closely monitoring health when symptoms of infection appear and notifying the school.

At Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, classes scheduled on April 29 (Saturday), April 30 (Sunday), and May 1 (Monday) are off and will not be made up. In case a lecturer needs to make up a class to ensure the content of the subject, the lecturer will register a make-up class schedule and notify the students. Classes scheduled on May 2 (Tuesday) and May 3 (Wednesday) are off. The make-up class schedule for these classes will be arranged by the school for the following week after the holiday.
