On the evening of November 18, at Hoa Binh Square, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province organized the program "Ruong Can Festival Night". This is the first time Hoa Binh province has organized the program "Ruong Can Festival Night".

The program "Ruong Can Festival Night" is one of the activities in the series of events of Hoa Binh Province Culture - Tourism Week in 2024.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Quach Thi Kieu - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province emphasized that with the efforts of all levels, sectors and localities in preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage, up to now, the wine culture of the Muong people of Hoa Binh has been widely known and welcomed by people across the country. Wine has become a cultural "ambassador" and a strangely attractive tourism of the mountains and forests of Hoa Binh for domestic and international tourists. In 2023, the wine of the Muong people of Hoa Binh was honored by the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association as one of 121 typical foods and drinks of Vietnam.

The program "Ruong Can Festival" is organized to continue promoting and introducing the unique value of the Muong people's wine culture to domestic and international tourists. Thereby, arousing the aspiration and pride in the precious cultural heritage of each ethnic group.

"This is also a cultural space for artisans of 4 Muong (Muong Bi, Muong Vang, Muong Thang, Muong Dong) to introduce the customs and unique ways of drinking ruou can, with the mission of connecting people with nature and people with people...", - said the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province.

According to the story, Hoa Binh's wine is a unique cuisine with a sweet and aromatic flavor, especially the wine of the 4 Muong Bi, Vang, Thang, Dong, made from herbal yeast and water from stone wells. The scene of the wine story was recreated with the participation of excellent artisans, Mo artisans from the 4 regions of Muong Bi, Vang, Thang, Dong, staff of the provincial Cultural and Cinema Center and the mass art artisans in the province, students of Industrial High Schools, the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Talent School.

At the program, the people and visitors attending the program experienced the worship and wine offering rituals of the 4 Muong. In front of the main stage and in front of the large wine jar placed in the middle were 5 girls with trays of offerings on their heads. The main shaman stood up, holding a fan in his hand, with a deep and resounding voice, reciting the Mo words of the ceremony, inviting the gods to attend the festival, inviting the superiors to come and drink wine. The 4 shamans representing the 4 Muong with the voices of the Muong regions stood up to offer wine to the 4 Muong.

After the gong calling ceremony, the main Shaman beats the gong 3 times, 9 times to greet the gong and give the order to enter the festival. To perform the gong calling ceremony, the main Shaman holds the gong with both hands, greeting heaven, earth and the audience, and prays to awaken the gong's soul. The festival part of the Can wine night opened with a Muong gong performance. 24 gong players moved onto the stage to perform the song "Di duong long 2, long 3". Next, the gong team stood in two rows in an arc in front of the stage to perform the gong song of the Muong ethnic group's oan offering ceremony.

In the Muong festival, the sound of gongs, drums and folk music cannot be absent from folk songs, folk dances, folk games and national sports expressing the optimistic spirit in production and labor, the martial spirit in combat, ready to protect the homeland.
