(Dan Tri) - During the time of temporary suspension from work and position, this doctor was asked by the school not to contact students or parents.


Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology (UMT) has just decided to temporarily suspend the work and position of Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang, Director of the Institute of Sports Science and Management.

"Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology has received many accusations from individuals about Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang and this information is affecting the reputation of the school. Therefore, the school needs to verify and clarify related issues," the decision stated the reason for suspending Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang.

Suspension period is 2 weeks, starting from January 7 to January 21.

During the suspension period, Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang is temporarily absent from work at the school. The school also requires that during the suspension period, Dr. Giang is not allowed to contact students or parents.

Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang received an advance salary according to the provisions of the Labor Code and was also obliged to ensure uninterrupted communication with the school and to be present when summoned by the school.

Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang was "accused" by his former colleague at Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology, Oliver Napila Gomez, a Filipino, of being the author of the book A Unified System Fitness Design (USFD) published by Routledge Publishing House, UK.

It is known that this is the first book by a Vietnamese author in the field of Sports Science published by Routledge.

After the launch of the USFD book in Vietnam on November 24, Mr. Oliver Napila Gomez posted on Facebook accusing Ms. Nguyen Tra Giang of violating intellectual property rights when she was the first author of the USFD book.

This person claimed to be the author of the book USFD published by Routledge, and Ms. Giang was a co-author.
