The countryside is bustling every afternoon. Partly, thanks to the children. Regardless of who is thinking, worrying, and hurriedly preparing meals after a busy day, their clear eyes only know that ahead is a newly harvested rice field, with straw strewn about, a red mound of soil to scoop and mold; the empty land is a place to throw cans and the trees become hiding places in the game of five ten… After five ten, the dragon snakes up to the clouds and the crows crow. They just run around. Their hair is sticky with sweat, their clothes are covered with road dust. Their voices echo in the neighborhood. Sometimes they laugh, sometimes they shout, sometimes they scream just to argue right and wrong in an exciting game. Seeing the carefree and bustling children, adults sometimes feel their souls become young again.
Vietnam.vn introduces to you the photo collection “A time of innocence”, recorded by the group of authors from the Communications Team – Vinh Long University of Technical Education in an afternoon in the countryside with the loud laughter and the sound of children playing resounding throughout the fields. The photo collection reminds us of our youth that is gradually fading away. The photo collection was submitted by the group of authors to the Photo and Video Contest “Happy Vietnam”, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications.
Remembering the afternoons when we frolicked beside the vast rice fields, oh how we missed the rustic, simple look of the countryside, how we missed the yellow color of the ripe rice season that raised us, how we missed the children of that day chirping and flying kites. We talked, the laughter and cheers of the children echoed throughout the fields, dispelling the fatigue and worries of life. The children were innocent, their hands tightly holding the kite strings, their eyes looking up to the sky with joy. For adults, kites may simply be a game, but for children at that time, it was a symbol of freedom, the desire to rise up in life.
Despite hardships, hardships, and deprivation, the children are still carefree, content, and happy with the present. Their faces are still bright and sparkling with smiles. Because they understand that they are experiencing a meaningful childhood: knowing how to help and share difficulties with their parents. Even though the villages do not have playgrounds like the cities, the joy in them never fades.
Children are innocent and carefree as they think. Therefore, children's smiles are always beautiful.
