A farmer invented an agricultural machine in Binh Phuoc thanks to "stealing" and made the whole village admire him.

Indeed, Decision No. 841-QD/HNDTW dated September 17, 2024 of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union , on honoring "Farmer's Scientist" for the 5th time in 2024, stated: Farmer member Nguyen Van Linh - permanent resident of Group 6, Tan Tien Quarter, Tan Xuan Ward, Dong Xoai City, Binh Phuoc Province, is one of 56 individuals selected to be honored by the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union.

Information from the Farmers' Association of Binh Phuoc province said: Member Nguyen Van Linh is a hard-working, diligent farmer with more than 10 years of experience in growing cashews, rubber...

Although his education level is only 10th grade; however, after a period of "stealing" the profession of electrician and mechanic from friends, combined with his passion for research and creativity, Mr. Linh is determined to do something to help farmers reduce their hardship.

Mr. Linh has researched and manufactured a series of machines and agricultural tools useful for the agricultural sector. Many products manufactured by Mr. Linh have much more competitive prices than similar products sold on the market.

For example, some famous machines invented by Mr. Linh include: "5 in 1" pesticide sprayer; equipment used to pump viscous fluids (such as rubber latex, liquid mud or similar fluids); fireproof rubber leaf blower in the dry season; chopper-shaft grass cutter; improved pesticide sprayer (with compact size, specialized in durian gardens)...

As a son of the red rubber land of Binh Phuoc province; rubber trees are attached to Mr. Linh like a destiny. His family has 10 hectares of land to grow rubber; he is frustrated because the family has to spend money to hire many workers to do all kinds of work such as: tapping latex, spraying pesticides, spreading fertilizer, blowing rubber leaves to prevent fire in the dry season...

So Mr. Linh is always worried and looking for new ways to make his family's rubber garden more effective, less costly, and less manual labor...

Starting with the rubber pump. Mr. Nguyen Van Linh said: "I found that transferring rubber latex to the tank truck took too much effort. Liquid rubber latex is viscous, thick, and sticky, so it is very difficult to pump. Before pumping, the machine often got clogged or had a damaged seal... So I came up with the idea of ​​creating an improved rubber pump. After a period of research, experimentation, and finding ways to solve the problems; as a result, the machine I created, when pumping latex, no longer makes the pump stick to residue and does not damage the seal."

Currently, the pump invented by Mr. Linh has been trusted by many units and individuals. The advantage of the machine is to reduce human labor, reduce production costs, and increase profits for users.

From 2019 to now, Mr. Linh has sold hundreds of rubber pumps to rubber farms and companies in Binh Phuoc province. The rubber pump has a large capacity, only needs 4 workers to operate, with a few minutes, the machine can pump a ton of latex. Mr. Nguyen Van Linh's rubber pump has many different capacities, depending on the conditions, it can use electricity or gasoline to run the machine.

Not only that, Nguyen Van Linh is also famous for his invention of the "5 in 1" sprayer. In 2013, Mr. Linh bought individual parts of agricultural machines such as: generators, iron pipes, fans, electric wires... Then, Mr. Linh researched and assembled a machine with 2 functions: spraying herbicides and spraying pesticides (spraying pesticides on rubber and cashew trees).

Accordingly, the machine designed by Mr. Linh has the ability to spray up to 35m in static mode and 25-30m in automatic mode, with a wide operating range of 10m2. In long-distance spraying mode, the machine's operating range is up to over 300m2.

With just a 500 liter water tank, depending on the terrain, within about 1 hour the machine can spray 3 - 4 hectares of rubber, compared to conventional machines, saving 50% of water and chemicals used, and spraying time is also shortened by 40%.

Not stopping at 2 applications of high and long-distance spraying, to fully utilize the machine's functions, Mr. Linh continued to research and improve some parts; continued to invent, so that the machine could have additional functions such as: blowing leaves, fumigating, using voltage to treat stem borers... From a machine with only 2 functions, through creative research, Mr. Linh created a machine with up to 5 functions (hence the name "5 in 1").

Mr. Linh said that currently, with the application of spraying pesticides for rubber trees, this machine can spray 3 hectares of cashew or rubber in 1 hour, on any flat or sloping terrain... Spraying in mist form not only helps people save water and pesticides but also protects the environment and human health better than other types of machines. On average, in 1 year, Mr. Linh's machine serves more than 1,000 hectares of cashew, rubber...

According to Mr. Linh, he has invested in buying more machines to continue inventing automatic fertilizer machines; as well as improving and manufacturing 2-4 more versions of the "5 in 1" sprayer to meet the agricultural production needs of the people.

From rudimentary machinery, without any technical training, farmer Nguyen Van Linh has researched, learned, and innovated multifunctional agricultural machinery. The machines invented by Mr. Linh have helped improve productivity, free up labor, protect farmers' health, reduce production costs, and increase profits for users.

Therefore, farmer Nguyen Van Linh is loved by the people of Dong Xoai City, Binh Phuoc Province, who call him the "unqualified farmer engineer".

According to the Farmers' Association of Binh Phuoc province: Products manufactured by member Nguyen Van Linh are currently being used by farmers in more than 20 provinces and cities across the country and some countries such as Laos, Cambodia..., with prices ranging from several million to hundreds of millions of VND, depending on the type of machine.

In 2023, Linh Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (directed by Mr. Nguyen Van Linh) was honored in the Top 3 of Vietnam Innovation Hub Award 2023 - Innovation Award 2023.

All products made by member Nguyen Van Linh have copyright registration certificates and have achieved high rankings in many technical innovation competitions organized by Binh Phuoc province and Dong Xoai city.

The device used to pump viscous fluids (rubber pump) was granted a patent by the Department of Intellectual Property - Ministry of Science and Technology in 2023.
