At first, the pagoda was built by the locals with bamboo and thatch walls on a rocky slope to worship Buddha and pray for peace. After many years, the pagoda was severely damaged. In 1851, Linh Long Pagoda moved to Nghia Trung sand hill, Ong Ho well, in quarter 9, Mui Ne ward (Phan Thiet, Binh Thuan province). There are many mysterious stories here.

Legend has it that in the past, this place was a pristine primeval forest full of trees, inside there were many birds and animals, tigers were considered the king of this entire forest.

The elders who lived here often saw tigers drinking water from a pond 4m wide and more than 5m deep.

After drinking water, the tiger sat on a rock to sunbathe. Therefore, the people built a pond into a well, named it Ong Ho well to worship this king of the jungle…

After more than 200 years, although restored and rebuilt on new land, Linh Long Pagoda still retains the Buddhist architecture of the early 19th century (the design is in the shape of the letter "khau").

The main shrine of the pagoda is home to ancient artifacts such as: 2 ancient wooden tables carved with 2 parallel sentences; some wooden gongs, tables and chairs carved with many sophisticated patterns of dragons and phoenixes.

Linh Long Pagoda has a garden with beautiful architecture and aesthetics, in which the tower garden has 4 large towers named the tower of Venerable Hoang Phuc; the tower of Venerable Dieu Qua; the tower of Mr. Ngo Van Muc and the tower of Dai Duc Dong Le.

Among them, the 3-storey tower of Venerable Hoang Phuc is considered one of the most beautiful towers in Binh Thuan.

Next to the tower garden is Lumbini Garden with dragon reliefs on both sides of the gate pillars. Deer Park Garden has a statue of Buddha Sakyamuni sitting under the Bodhi tree preaching. Finally, the garden behind the temple has a statue of Buddha lying in Nirvana.

Every time tourists come to visit and admire these gardens, they cannot miss taking valuable souvenir photos.

With beautiful gardens, different meanings and unique architecture and decoration, visitors to Linh Long Pagoda not only burn incense to worship Buddha, pray for luck and peace in life, but also find it an attractive sightseeing spot every time tourists come to Mui Ne.

Ms. Le Thi Hoang, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City who came to visit the pagoda, shared: “In the past, when talking about Mui Ne, tourists immediately thought of the land of “Blue sea, white sand, yellow sunshine” with beautiful natural landscapes such as Hon Rom, Hong hill, Ghenh island, Mui Ne fishing village... few people thought of the ancient pagoda over 200 years old.

But now, many tourists coming to Mui Ne first visit Linh Long Pagoda to burn incense and pray for peace, then go to other famous places and landscapes to visit and admire...".
