According to the Asahi newspaper, Higashiomi City police received a report on the evening of February 26 about a man lying in a pool of blood in an apartment building in the Hibarigaokacho area. The victim was identified as Nguyen Tuan Anh, 35, a contract worker living in the first-floor apartment here.
Japanese police said the victim died from multiple stab wounds to the neck and on February 27, they urgently arrested suspect Takashi Yamamoto, 49, an unemployed man who lived on the second floor of the apartment building. The suspect admitted to the murder, saying he had "a problem with noise in daily life".
