Speaking with Nhan Dan Newspaper, Secretary of the Party Committee of Binh Trung Commune, Ban Van Binh, confirmed that at around 2:00 p.m. on April 16, Ms. TTH, born in 1969, residing in Khuoi Quan village, died, suspected of trying to put out a forest fire in the village.

According to information from local authorities, when a forest fire was discovered, people quickly joined in fighting the fire.

After the forest fire was brought under control, at around 4:30 p.m., people still could not find Mrs. H, so they started searching. Later, people discovered Mrs. H's body lying in the area where the fire had been extinguished.

According to local authorities, it is possible that Ms. H was exhausted while trying to put out the forest fire to prevent it from spreading to her family's newly planted 3-year-old mangrove forest.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.

It is known that the current forest fire situation in Bac Kan is very complicated because the weather has been dry and without rain for many months.

On April 16, in addition to the forest fire in Binh Trung, another forest fire occurred in the border area between Xuat Hoa ward (Bac Kan city) and Tan Son commune (Cho Moi district).

Since the beginning of the year, in Bac Kan province, the number of forest fires has exceeded the total number of forest fires in 2024.
