Ancient People Cave in the middle of Cuc Phuong forest (Cuc Phuong National Park, Kim Son district, Ninh Binh province) where 3 ancient tombs were discovered in 1966. The special thing when excavating these ancient tombs is that the remains are all in a curled up position.

This cave is currently about 4 km from the entrance of Cuc Phuong forest. The cave has an area of about 30 m2, has 3 compartments, is wide and airy, the door faces southwest.

The outermost compartment is wide, bright and airy, so it was chosen by prehistoric people as their living place. The middle compartment is narrow, dark and damp, and is where bats live. The innermost compartment is dark and damp, with a beautiful stalactite system.

In 1966, the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, in collaboration with Cuc Phuong National Park and with the help of German experts, excavated this cave.

The results show that there is a very rich and diverse cultural layer here, including stream snails, mountain snails, bones and teeth of animals such as gibbons, monkeys, bears, wild boars, deer, etc.

In addition, labor tools such as stone axes, stone knives and nearly 2 m thick charcoal ash were also discovered.

Primitive human remains were buried around the stone embankment, the bottom was covered with crushed stone, some graves were sprinkled with ochre and most of these graves were placed near the fireplace.
