Mr. Phung Thanh Vinh, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, has just signed a decision allowing Viet Lao Energy Investment and Development Joint Stock Company to lease 30,499.7 square meters of land in Thanh Chuong district for the purpose of energy construction land to implement the 220kV Truong Son - Do Luong Power Line project (section on Vietnamese territory) connecting Truong Son Wind Power Plant to the Vietnam Power System.
Viet Lao Energy Investment and Development Joint Stock Company invests 594 billion VND to bring electricity from Lam to Vietnam to help solve the power shortage in the North.
The project has a total investment of 594 billion VND, invested by Viet Lao Energy Investment and Development Joint Stock Company. The total length of the power line is over 40km. Of which, the section through Do Luong district is about 1.39km long, passing through Xuan Son and Minh Son communes, the section through Thanh Chuong district is about 40.64km long, passing through Thanh Thuy, Thanh An, Thanh Thinh, Thanh Huong, Thanh Linh, Dai Dong and Thanh Phong communes.
The power line starts from the 220kV Do Luong transformer station (starting point at Thanh Cai 220kV) and ends at the connection point located in Vietnam, more than 100m from the Vietnam - Laos border, in the Thanh Thuy Border Control Station area (Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Chuong district).
When completed and put into operation, the line will transmit the capacity of the Truong Son Wind Power Plant from Laos to Vietnam, contributing to solving the power shortage in the North, while strengthening the grid connection between the two countries. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
Nghe An province will lease land to the above enterprise without auctioning land use rights, without bidding to select investors to implement projects using land, and with annual land rent payments.
