Hope that the National Assembly of Vietnam and Qatar will closely coordinate and support the effective implementation of bilateral cooperation mechanisms.

On the morning of October 31, within the framework of his official visit to the State of Qatar, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Chairman of the Qatari Parliament Hassan bin Abdulla Al-Ghanim.

Welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chairman of the Qatari National Assembly Hassan bin Abdulla expressed their belief that the visit will achieve important results, create new momentum, and contribute to further expanding and strengthening the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

The Chairman of the Qatari National Assembly congratulated Vietnam on its great socio-economic achievements and expressed his admiration for Vietnam’s national construction and development, especially its maintenance of strong economic growth in the context of complex fluctuations in the world economy; saying that this is a valuable experience for many countries in the world.

Speaker of the Qatari Parliament Hassan bin Abdulla expressed his admiration for Vietnam's revolutionary history, which has inspired people around the world; and affirmed that the Qatari Parliament wishes to promote cooperation with the Vietnamese Parliament to support the two governments in effectively and substantially implementing their commitments and cooperation plans, for the benefit of the people of the two countries.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated and highly appreciated the contributions of the Qatari Parliament and its Speaker Hassan bin Abdulla in implementing the “National Vision 2030” guidelines and policies, maintaining political stability, developing socio-economy, and preserving and promoting cultural and historical values.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the cooperation between the two countries has developed rapidly in the more than 30 years since the two countries established diplomatic relations with many positive results such as deeper political trust, more growth in economic, trade and investment relations and increased mutual support at multilateral forums. However, the Prime Minister said that the two sides still have a lot of potential to further promote bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of economics, trade, investment, energy and agriculture, commensurate with the good political relations and the potential and advantages of each country.

Emphasizing Qatar's proud achievements in economic development, as well as its success in hosting the World Cup 2022 and the recent Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Summit, the Prime Minister said that Vietnam can learn a lot from Qatar in terms of thinking, vision and measures to build and develop the country.

To give Vietnam-Qatar friendship and cooperation Continuing to develop further for the benefit, prosperity and happiness of the people of the two countries in the coming time, the two leaders agreed to further promote the role of parliamentary diplomacy, strengthen cooperation between the two countries' National Assemblies through promoting exchanges of delegations of National Assembly leaders, leaders of specialized committees of the two legislative bodies to share legislative and supervisory experiences; continue to closely coordinate between the two countries' National Assemblies, promote cooperation between the Arab Parliamentary Group and the Asian Parliamentary Group at multilateral multi-parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), promote exchanges between young parliamentarians and female parliamentarians.

The Speaker of the Qatari Parliament suggested that the two sides soon establish a Friendship Parliamentarians' Association to regularly exchange and propose measures to enhance and promote parliamentary cooperation between the two countries; and hoped that the two parliaments would coordinate in supporting the just struggle of the Palestinian people and the two-state solution.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the two countries’ National Assemblies coordinate closely and support the effective implementation of bilateral cooperation mechanisms, promote the upgrading of bilateral relations to a new level; prioritize economic, trade, investment, energy cooperation, etc.; perfect policies and agreements, especially the Free Trade Agreement, to help strengthen cooperation between businesses and connect people of the two countries.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed the regards, congratulations and invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to the Chairman of the National Assembly of Qatar to visit Vietnam soon. The Chairman of the National Assembly of Qatar sent his regards to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and senior leaders of Vietnam; thanked and happily accepted the invitation to visit Vietnam soon.
