Accordingly, from September 29 to October 1, Tram Tau District People's Committee, Vietnam Law Newspaper, Hung Viet Trade and Tourism Company Limited jointly organized the first "Steps on the Clouds" mountain climbing competition - Conquering Ta Chi Nhu peak in 2023.
The climbing competition is also a place to strengthen the solidarity, dedication and creativity of the press with many valuable press works on tourism, economic development associated with regional advantages. This is also an opportunity to create motivation, raise awareness about health training, promote the mountain climbing sport movement in Vietnam today.
The 2023 “Steps on the Clouds” Mountain Climbing Tournament - Conquering Ta Chi Nhu Peak has 100 athletes participating. The athletes participating are reporters working at news agencies and newspapers from the Central and local levels across the country whose applications have been assessed and approved by the organizing committee.
Athletes participating in the tournament will be supported by the organizing committee with travel and accommodation expenses during the tournament according to the schedule: Pick up the delegation in Hanoi to go to Tram Tau, compete in mountain climbing, go down the mountain and return to Hanoi.
“Steps on the Clouds” is the first mountain climbing competition for journalists.
Participating in the “Steps on the Clouds” mountain climbing competition, athletes will have to overcome a route with a distance of about 10km of mountainous roads. The starting point is from the foot of the mountain in Sang Pao village, Xa Ho commune and the finish point is Ta Chi Nhu peak at an altitude of 2,979m above sea level. The highlight of the mountain climbing route is that athletes will pass through majestic natural landscapes at each altitude, from primeval forests, through low-canopy forests, grasslands, to purple chi pau flower fields...

Speaking at the press conference, comrade Tran Ngoc Ha, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Law Newspaper said: Coming to this mountain climbing competition, athletes will experience touching the clouds and touching fairyland.
Due to the accommodation conditions, the maximum capacity is only 200 people. Therefore, to bring the best experiences to the athletes when participating in the tournament, the Organizing Committee will arrange 60-70 tour guides to ensure safety and timely support for the athletes. In addition, all members participating in the tournament will also be purchased free insurance, informed Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Law Newspaper.
Mr. Khang A Chua - Vice Chairman of Tram Tau District People's Committee, Yen Bai Province said: "The idea of the tournament has been around since 2021, after a trip to Tram Tau. Due to the pandemic, it has not been implemented in 2022.
By 2023, the People's Committee of Tram Tau district coordinated with the Vietnam Law Newspaper to propose ideas, develop scenarios, mobilize sponsors and facilities. By July 2023, the idea had been built into a plan. By mid-August, we had a specific program from opening to closing."
Sharing at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Yen Bai province, said that each reporter and journalist participating in this tournament is both an athlete and a tourism ambassador for Tram Tau in particular and Yen Bai tourism in general, contributing to the propaganda, promotion and introduction of tourism on social networking platforms.
Total prize value up to 150 million VND. About prize value: First prize: 30 million VND; Second prize: 20 million VND; Third prize: 10 million VND; Encouragement prize: 5 million VND. Special prize: 5 million VND.
