NDO - On the afternoon of December 17, the Standing Committee of the People's Council of Quang Binh province issued a Resolution regulating the policy of supporting increased food and living expenses for ethnic minority students, helping them have more favorable conditions to go to school.
Specifically, the province supports increased food expenses for high school students at ethnic boarding schools by 700,000 VND/student/month; students at ethnic semi-boarding schools by 200,000 VND/student/month.
Additional support for living expenses for full-time university students is 3,630,000 VND/student/month; full-time college students is 2,700,000 VND/student/month; full-time intermediate students is 1,700,000 VND/student/month.
Support period is based on actual study months and not exceeding 10 months/year.
According to the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, although the Central Government has had support policies, it has not yet ensured food, accommodation and living conditions for ethnic minority students.
To reduce the financial burden on parents, motivate students to excel in their studies and training; contribute to training high-quality human resources in ethnic minority areas, Quang Binh province balances resources to annually provide about 25 billion VND to implement the policy of supporting food and living expenses for about 5,289 students.
This increase in support regime is both humane and concretizes Resolution No. 08-NQ/TU dated June 10, 2022 of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee on socio-economic development, preserving cultural identity, security and order in ethnic minority, border and mountainous areas of the province for the period 2022-2025, with a vision to 2030.
It is known that after the Resolution was issued, ethnic boarding schools, semi-boarding schools, universities, colleges and intermediate schools in Quang Binh province received funds and directly implemented policies for students.
As for students studying at universities, colleges and intermediate schools outside the province, they will be provided through the People's Committees of communes and towns to pay directly to policy beneficiaries.
