Join Wings of dreams for students in disadvantaged areas
In the first year, the Dream Wings scholarship program will award 100 scholarships (VND 4 million/scholarship) to middle and high school students from 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta. The following years will be for the Southeast, Central and Central Highlands regions.
Students must have good conduct, good academic performance, difficult circumstances, and a desire to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.
In particular, scholarship applicants must be introduced to the program by classmates, teachers at school, local people and Tuoi Tre newspaper readers.
The introduction should clearly state the family background, especially the student's efforts to overcome difficulties to pursue school, excel in study and life.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc - Principal of Van Hien University - this introduction aims to encourage, create mutual interest, and community sharing for examples of studiousness and determination to succeed in life.
The organizers hope to discover examples of true effort, loved by teachers and friends, and deserving of scholarships.
There will be 11 prizes (worth 21 million VND) awarded to articles or people who discover the right subjects, selected to be published in Tuoi Tre newspaper publications.
Including 1 first prize (4 million VND), 2 second prizes (3 million VND/prize), 3 third prizes (2 million VND/prize) and 5 consolation prizes (1 million VND/prize).
120 scholarships for students
The Dream Wings Scholarship Program offers 120 scholarships to candidates admitted to Van Hien University and Binh Minh Saigon College (total cost of over 5.6 billion VND).
Specifically, 60 scholarships for new students of Van Hien University with the structure of 10 scholarships supporting full-course tuition (140 million VND/scholarship), 20 scholarships with 50% tuition reduction (70 million VND/scholarship), 30 scholarships with 30% tuition reduction (42 million VND/scholarship).
Similarly, 60 scholarships to Binh Minh Saigon College include 10 scholarships with 100% tuition fee for the entire course (56 million VND/scholarship), 20 scholarships with 50% tuition fee reduction (26 million VND/scholarship) and 30 scholarships with 30% tuition fee reduction (16.8 million VND/scholarship).
Students receiving the scholarship must have good or excellent academic performance, good conduct in all years, have graduated from high school, and be admitted to Van Hien University or Binh Minh Saigon College in 2024.
Other conditions must be that the student has a difficult family situation, is disabled, an orphan, or has a relative (breadwinner) who unfortunately has a serious illness, work accident, is a child of a war invalid or martyr, or has a family with revolutionary contributions in difficult circumstances.
The article or letter of recommendation about the student's situation applying for the scholarship must not exceed 800 words, with photos and video clips (if any) and must be written or recommended by friends, teachers, or relatives.

The program has begun accepting submissions and will last until June 5. The scholarship award ceremony is expected to be held in Dong Thap at the end of June.
