In recent years, along with the task of building a strong association and members, Lai Chau Farmers' Association has made many efforts in supporting farmers. Notably, the support of capital for production and business has brought positive results, contributing to helping members reduce poverty and develop the economy.

In Nam Nhun district, the movement has been expanded, attracting a large number of farmers to participate, creating a solid foundation for farmer members to strengthen their confidence, boldly develop the economy, thereby promoting the potential and strengths of the locality.
The family of Mr. Ca Van Kham, Nam Cay village, Nam Hang commune is known by many people as a pioneer in applying scientific advances to livestock production. Through discussions with Mr. Kham, we learned that, like other households in the village, his family used to struggle with daily food. Preferential loans from the State through the Farmers' Association have helped his family develop their economy.
Realizing the local advantage of having many abandoned lands with good grass growth, which is a favorable condition for grazing livestock, he decided to invest in concentrated livestock barns. Currently, Mr. Kham's family's concentrated livestock model has more than 30 buffaloes and cows. In addition, from the support source, his family boldly invested in planting two more hectares of cinnamon. Currently, the cinnamon trees have begun to yield pruned branches and leaves. Combined with livestock, each year Mr. Kham's family's total income reaches nearly 200 million VND.
Seeing that Mr. Kham’s family had escaped poverty through livestock farming, many households also learned to raise livestock following the above model. Overcoming initial difficulties, Mr. Kham and other households in Nam Cay village found the “key” to escaping poverty. From the abandoned hills of the past, now there have appeared systematic concentrated livestock farms, breaking the mindset of small-scale, wild farming and production.
With the hard-working hands, the Nam Cay farmers' association members have turned abandoned land into cinnamon gardens, passion fruit gardens and many lush fruit trees, making the appearance and rural life in the mountainous area here increasingly prosperous.
On the new, smooth concrete road leading to Nam Sao 1 village, Trung Chai commune, we met the Mang people chatting and cleaning the village road. Listening to the elders in the village, the Mang people's livelihood is no longer as difficult as before. The village has changed, there is electricity, roads, new schools, and children are willing to go to school.
People have learned a lot of new knowledge in animal husbandry and crop cultivation from vocational training courses implemented by Farmers' Associations at all levels. It is worth mentioning that through television and newspapers, people have a clear understanding of the policies of the Party and the State.
Before 2012, Nam Sao 1 belonged to Nam Ban commune, Sin Ho district, a locality with many bad customs and social evils such as alcoholism, incestuous marriage... "In recent years, under the strong direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels in implementing the movements "All people unite to build cultural life in residential areas, build new rural areas" and "Farmers compete to produce well", the Mang ethnic people here have all enthusiastically participated, many households have escaped poverty and become rich", Ms. Lo Me Tho, Secretary of the Party Cell of Nam Sao 1 village happily said.
Coming to the "windy land" of Than Uyen, at the fishing village of Tham Phe, Muong Kim commune, we met Ms. Lo Thi Dung, Director of the Thanh Nien Tham Phe Cooperative. Ms. Dung is one of the first people in Muong Kim to boldly invest in the model of raising fish in cages on the lake. Joining the cooperative with Ms. Dung's family, many Thai and Kho Mu ethnic people living along the lake have taken advantage of the special incentives from the policy of supporting the development of agricultural production in Lai Chau province. With the support of preferential loans through association organizations, including the Farmers' Association at all levels, people have focused on developing the model of raising fish in cages.
Since the initial year of starting the fish cage business, overcoming difficulties, Thanh Nien Tham Phe Cooperative has expanded its scale to 60 cages raising various kinds of specialty fish. The story of the young female director Lo Thi Dung is even more convincing, as the fish cage farming model she introduced has created stable jobs for dozens of households.
To increase income for members, in addition to fish farming, Thanh Nien Tham Phe Cooperative also processes and packages specialties and fish products; unique items as souvenirs; and provides services such as renting tourist boats and fishing experiences for tourists.
With an average income of 8-10 million VND/person/month, the model of cage fish farming combined with tourism of households on Ban Chat hydroelectric lake is showing the effectiveness and role of association organizations, including Farmers' Associations at all levels, in supporting members to develop the economy.
To facilitate economic development for households, every year, Farmers' Associations at all levels coordinate with the Social Policy Bank to create conditions for members to access preferential capital sources. By the end of 2023, the total outstanding debt of the Social Policy Bank entrusted through the Association is more than 1,000 billion VND, with 15,614 households borrowing capital, through 412 savings groups.
According to Chairman of Lai Chau Farmers' Association Duong Dinh Duc, the Farmers' Support Fund models have created many high-quality products, bringing economic efficiency and improving farmers' lives. Thereby, the dynamic and creative spirit in labor and production of farmers' association members has been promoted, promoting production and business activities to develop and achieve high efficiency, contributing to ensuring social security and helping farmers sustainably reduce poverty...
